Disney Weddings
I don't know what the age range is here...or how many are old enough to be in the getting/gotten married area of life..but anyways
Ever since I was about 12 I wanted to get married at Disney World, in front of Cinderella's castle...which is possible but costly...lol..
Has anyone had a Disney wedding?? or going to have?? or been to one??
The website can only give so much info....and I'm waiting for the "wishbook" to be ready...
anyone have any thoughts/stories on this?

well, that's still cool...I suppose not too many can afford to have their wedding at Disney.....
It'll be a few years of saving....but hopefully I can do it....you can get taken away in Cinderella's pumpkin coach...and have Disney Character's come to the reception....

Yeah...I'm hoping to do both....
If you do an intimate wedding it can be as low as $3,500 US..but that's why I'm waiting for the wishbook to be ready...it will be like a cost calculator...you can pick the options you want and it will say how much it would cost.
I'd live in a box if I could get married at Disney World.....lol..well not really... I've never been there and either has my b/f so it would just be one big magical event.

disney weddings
It is a dream of mine, that if I ever get married, I want to get married at Disney Land right in front of the castle. I've seen it on tv and it's the most romantic thing i've seen.
If I ever find a guy who would be willing to do something like that.....(hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha)

Well, that's cheaper than my neighbor's wedding, which was $15,000 and had nothing to do with Disney World. . .
Still, what if I were to drag a preacher through the gate with us and conned him into performing a quick ceremony in front of the castle? LOL
But seriously, I wish it wasn't so expensive down there. And not just the wedding stuff that's been mentioned here, but everything.
Sigh.
Eh, I'm just happy that I found someone that learned to like Disney almost as much as I do and would be willing to put up with such a wedding theme, LOL

We got engaged in Disneyland and I did dream of a WDW or DL wedding, but unfortunately neither us nor our parents are that well off. To actually get married in the MK of DL, prices start at $50 000US, and that was when we looked at it two years ago - and DOESN'T include the reception. Whilst we spent a sizable amount of money on our wedding, it just seemed ludicrous to spend $50K+ on the ceremony alone...never mind getting there, accommodation etc. It would be lovely though....
I think the problem that I have with getting married in Disneyland is...
I want a church wedding.
I'm really religious because I was raised that way..so it kinda stuck. So my dream wedding always involved a church.
But getting married at Disneyland/world sounds like a dreeeeaaamm!
maybe an anniversary wedding?
then again, I'm thinking too far ahead! i haven't even finished college!

They have a very pretty wedding chapel at the Grand Floridian resort which, although non-denominational, is more like a church. Plus Cinderella's Castle can be seen from the altar.RJKD23 wrote:I think the problem that I have with getting married in Disneyland is...

I have wanted to have a Disney World wedding for years, but I just looked at the website recently. Somehow, it just doesn't seem worth it to spend all that money (it's a couple thousand dollars JUST to arrive at the chapel in Cinderella's carriage) unless I suddenly became a billionaire of sorts. I think a Disney World honeymoon will have to do ...

Just imagine it:
A wid path of white roses beggins from the Disney entrance and ends in to the Cinderela´s palace. There, a red carpet it´s waiting for the bride who enters in the Cinderela´s car.
The doors opens and a beautyfull bride step outs of it weaing a pair of cristal-like shoes--cirstal it´s very hard, imagine how the poor bride would walk--and a both-sides line of royal guards recive her while some people cheer her and she enters in the castle.
The marriage it´s fullfilled now, and the new couple now got into the car and they go away whil a crowd cheer them agin.
The most important day for a bride it´s now true, and she it´s not only a bride, but a princess-for-a-day bride. and it has been like a dream;just than this time,it have ben true...
man, that would make lots of profits, do I have a capitalis soul or what?

Re: Disney Weddings
If you ordered the disney wedding video, it will give you a lot of the prices on it. I did order the video and found that it would be way to expensive to have a wedding at Disneyworld. I think the weddings in front of the castle started out at about $40,000. The Grand Floridian is nice and less expensive. You can see the castle really good from there Wedding Pavillion.melliekins wrote:I don't know what the age range is here...or how many are old enough to be in the getting/gotten married area of life..but anyways

I've always really wanted a WDW wedding, and might, but I also want a big church wedding. As Pinkrenata pointed out, there is the beautiful wedding chapel/pavilion at the Grand Floridian with an amazing view of the castle so that it's just between the bride and groom behind the altar. (It should also be noted that even if you get married at/on/inside the castle or somewhere else in WDW, it can still be a religious ceremony).
Of course you can get married almost anywhere at Disney World, not just the castle. Want to get married inside the Oz scene in the Great Movie Ride? They can do it! I've even seen a picture of that one in particular.
There are many ways to involve WDW with your wedding. Even if you don't get married there, you can still have a smaller ceremony there or a honeymoon or vowel renewal, etc, and they'll assist you with any of those, or help you come up with ideas of how to work it in. Disney Weddings has its own website-- and it's a pretty good one. They used to have their own department but it has since been merged with a larger department and from what I understand, that has hampered the speed and convenience of their service just a bit. Still, I'm told that you can call them and they can be quite helpful in getting you as much information as you want, ranging from the general to the specific, and help you plan as little or as much of you WDW vacation as you want... and they can get very lavish in details!
I think it was the Food Channel that recently aired a special on a WDW wedding called "Fairytale Weddings" or something like that. If you're a member of the #Disney-Central Network, that video is available there.
It's pretty expensive, or at least it can be, but there are ways to get married there or at least incorporate it into your marriage ceremony for a reasonably reasonable price, from what I understand. If you really want to shell out some big bucks, they can do some very cool, very Disney things for you, ranging beyond the ceremony itself.
Btw, Renata- great avatar! I just watched that episode yesterday!

Hi,
My wife and I eloped a few months before we were planning to get married, and it was just the two of us, at the courthouse. I had gotten a job in another state and we wanted to go ahead and get married. Our families still really wanted to come to a wedding though, and to keep anyone from getting mad, we had a wedding at disney world almost a year later. We had the tuxes and the gown and the cake and everything that you are supposed to have and put on the wedding for our family and friends to come to. One thing that I will say is that disney is very experienced at putting on weddings. They are really pros at it, and all you have to do is show up and make a few decisions and go along for the ride. Well, that and you have to write a nice sized check of course. But they really do have it down to a science. It was a great experience. I really can't say anything but good things about everyone at disney that had a part in it, the hotel people were wonderful, the planning people were wonderful, the officiant, heck, the musicians, the limo driver, everybody. About the religious side, our officiant was a minister. It was really a wonderful experience.
By the way, I'm also going to say this. I recommend eloping to everyone. I've been in so many weddings where everyone is so scared and nervous. My wife and I were already married, so there wasn't any jitters or anything. We really were able to enjoy everything and enjoy our guests without being nervous.

Ok, my fiance & I were originally going to get married @ Wedding Pavillion @ WDW-but didnt want my rents or us to spend a fortune. Plus being a destination wedding.....alot of people wouldnt travel that far knowing they would have to pay for airfare & hotel.
we're still going w/ a Cinderella theme wedding-just not at WDW!
what we're going to do is host a small vow renewal ceremony there in 2010.
save up now if you plan on getting married there.
If u go to Disney.com there is a page that u can get more info about Disney theme park weddings.
