Something's wrong with DuckTales DVD?

Post by lis »

I'm not sure if this topic has been discussed before, so forgive me if I'm repeating. I just want to share my discovery about "DuckTales the movie" DVD. These few screengrabs speak for themselves:

I didn't realise that making the widescreen version means cutting the video from the top and bottom... :-/

Yea.. :(

I think that happened to one of the Aladdin sequels..I'm not sure.
But for animated movies like those, they should be in Fullscreen.

Although DuckTales was shown in theatres so it would have been made widescreen for those showings, so technically the DVD does shown its original theatrical aspect ratio.

Although I too would have preferred fullscreen!

When will DuckTales:The Movie- Treasure of the Lost Lamp coming to DVD in the United States? This was a great movie from 1990 that I used to watch when I was younger. Also a DuckTales: The Box Set.

If you are interested, the French DVD appears to have both widescreen an the fullscreen presentations.

Well, in the widescreen version, even though they cropped some of the top and bottom, they also added some picture to the sides.
In some ways, dogs are superior to men.

No, I understand it is an exclusive with a specific retailer (was it Target?), so it will not be available on general Australian DVD websites for retail.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I hate it when BVHE do that, especialy with the ColesMyer scum. I wish Westfield had never helped them get off the ground.

As for the DVD, I thought about that, and had a flick through the racks at Westfield Miranda, Westfield Hornsby and I'll go again at Westfield Bondi Junction. Is the DVD still on the 'restricted' market?
