You don't like Finding Nemo either? It was so hilariouslolopimp wrote: To me.....yes. By far, "The Incredibles" is the worst Pixar film, along with Finding Nemo. The rest are really good though.
This is just my opinion, there's no need to get angry. And read someone writing about prejudice?? Yea....ok.

I'm not mad or anything I just didn't think anyone would hate The Incredibles with all the good comments i've heard about it

But whatever everyone has their own opinions... People may disagree with me but I think The Black Cauldron and Pocahontas are terrible Disney movies

But anyways back to What people think of The Incredibles Collector's Edition

Well, I don't think anyone doubts that widescreen sells more than fullscreen overall, but in reality, that margin is a lot smaller. Considering that it's a tech-savvy Internet audience and that the numbers are showing for those who keep track of their DVD collection and have already added a DVD that came out yesterday...it's not surprising that the stats would be skewed that far in favor of widescreen. What's more troubling is that the Fullscreen version is (or was, anyway) #2 on Amazon's Top Sellers chart. That's the same Internet audience (though less tech-savvy on the whole, surely) and they were buying more Missing-40% DVD versions than any other movie on DVD? Now of course, Widescreen was #1, hurray and all that! And <i>The Incredibles</i> is an amazingly popular title, so very high sales even for the less popular of the two versions are to be expected. But still, there's a great number of people buying fullscreen and not all of them are uninformed.Evil Genie Jafar wrote:Just for the record:
According to dvdaf.com
97 have the FS version of the movie while 1958 have the WS.
I guess people are learning finally.

Watched a bunch of extras tonight. Loved Bounding. Two easter eggs not to be missed are the Sock Puppets and Frank and Ollie. Did anybody else catch them in the movie?
Deleted scenes were ho hum.

I'll tell you this. While I was standing in line, waiting to pay for The Incredibles, I saw alot of widescreen going off the display. Sure, there were a few that picked up the full screen version, but mostly people were getting widescreen. Then, I heard a lady ask her child, "Which one do you want? Widescreen or full screen?" The child replied, very assuredly, "Full screen". I thought, why in the world is this child so sure that she wants full screen? I got to thinking about it, and I figured that, perhaps, the child wanted full screen, because that's how she watches television. To a child (and therefore a parent), the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen do not represent anything to them, except for missing some of the image. We all know, of course, that this is simply not the case, but a child would not really interpret it that way. So, in my opinion, this is why movies are still released in full screen. All I can say is, thank God we have a choice (in most cases)!
Oh, and how about those numbers for the first day of release? 5 million copies! That's, pardon the pun, INCREDIBLE!

prejudice = prejudgement. If you had actually read what I wrote, or Evil Genie Jafar's little summary of my rant, you would've noticed that I had said that "you shouldn't have made prejudgements (i.e.: listen to your friends so dearly) about The Incredibles before you saw it."lolopimp wrote:To me.....yes. Anyways, The Incredibles has sold a whopping 5 million copies in Day 1
Here's a little something I wrote about it in my LJ yesterday:
Luckily, I was at least able to bring it in to work with me. The kids were all excited, since none of them could possibly have watched it at home yet (although most of them had seen it in the theaters). I gave them the choice of watching the new Jack-Jack short first, and they loved it. I could not get over over the gag with Syndrome's "S," it really cracked me up! And I was a little relieved that none of the kids got it, LOL.
One of the kids asked me if I could switch the movie to full-screen. I gave her a flat "no" and told her that it cuts off part of the picture. I waited for her to question that, but she kind of shrugged before continuing to watch it.
A handful of them got bored somewhere in the middle of the actual movie, but given the attention span that most of them have, I kind of expected that. But after the action picked up they forgot about all the "boring" parts.
You know, this has got to be my most favorite film. And I mean ever.
I'm not a huge fan of live-action films. but I love how "live-action" this film feels. Pixar has grown up. I love how this film is so serious and complex and subtle and deep. I'm still dumb-founded that they touched on such subjects as suicide and adultery, not to mention featuring a villain that's basically a serial killer. One of my favorite parts is when Helen tells her kids that these bad guys are not like the bad guys you see on Saturday morning, since not only do the kids lose their innocence, the audience is reminded that this isn't an ordinary cartoon where the good guys are guaranteed a victory without a price.
I also love the concept of basically having to pull back and dumb yourself down in order to fit in with the rest of the world and the kinds of problems that may cause when you're not allowed to be or even find yourself.
There's so many more things I could be saying, but I think it's time to go check out some of those bonus features I've been reading about and have been dying to see (I've been very busy lately, sigh)!
Of course, I had the option of playing it in my bedroom, but I was running out of time and wanted to watch it uninterrupted.Someone or something did not want me to watch "The Incredibles" yesterday, I swear.
Jeff was all excited about it and offered to go pick it up at Wal-mart when they opened the big box of 'em at midnight. It wouldn't be the first time we had done that for a Disney DVD, LOL! [I'm usually the first in my area to get my hands on one.] But we both got too sleepy to go anywhere, and I told him, "[To heck with it], I'll just get it in the morning."
So yesterday morning I reached in my jacket pocket for my money, but it wasn't there. I took a quick look around for the bank envelope, but it was nowhere to be seen. Oh well, I didn't want to be late for work; I could look for it when I got back. But what a pain, I wanted to make the stop at Wal-mart on the way home and pick up a few groceries while I was there, but now I had an extra stop to make. So I didn't even take the time to work out, I went straight home after work to get the money.
I couldn't find it anywhere.
I woke up Jeff to ask if he had seen it, and he said he hadn't touched it. He said he'd help look in a few minutes. Yeah, right. I knew he wouldn't be up for a while. So I crawled back in bed and worried about my missing $50. When Jeff finally woke up, he couldn't find the money, either. He told me not to worry about it but the idea of losing that much money made me sick to my stomach. I knew I had it in my jacket pocket at home the night before. So I don't know what the [heck] happened to it. And maybe I was being childish, but I wanted my movie, [darn it]!
Jeff finally ran off to buy it for me and brought back lunch, too. So we turned the DVD player on. Heh. We've been having problems with it, but now it's totally quit working. Grr. But that's okay, we can still play it in the PS2, right? So we popped it in there and discovered the security setting is for G-rated films only. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!
See, I bought it used from someone who refurbishes old ones. The previous owner had set it like that and I have no way of getting the password.
Man, yesterday [stunk].

Wow, Karen, quite the adventure! Glad that eventually there was a happy ending. I echo practically everything you said.
<i>The Incredibles</i> = Pixar does it again!

I've had this DVD for several days now...and I'm liking it! Although, I have to say that after seeing the "Incredi-Blunders", I will never be able to watch the "Totally Wicked" line the same way ever again...
I was at someone else's house the other day and saw that they were one of the 97 who purchased the full screen version *shudders*
The easter eggs are the greatest!

I just loved The Incredibles. I didn't see it in the theatre. It was Pixar's best since Monsters Inc. I am not a fan of Finding Nemo. We got a good deal on our copy of The Incredibles. We just decided to buy it since all the video stores had their copies out. And we figured if we wait we'll never see it . So we bought it. It is worth what we paid for it and more. It was well written, and there was so much action.

Mirage is waiting for you to call.
Just for fun, I thought I would call the number that appears on Mirage's card. I called, and Mirage had a message waiting for me. It's pretty cool that the number is an actual working number, and that Mirage has a message on there.
If you live in America, give it a try. I don't know how toll-free #'s work, outside of America.
The number can be found on Mirage's card.

OMG, I was so tempted to do that earlier today! I might actually give that a try now, LOL!MadonnasManOne wrote:Just for fun, I thought I would call the number that appears on Mirage's card. OMG!!! It was true and so cool.
This shows how clever Pixar is and how much attention they pay to details.
... altough I guess this had to be done if they decided to show that phone number on the movie...

"You're only second rate!"
By the way, I decided to bring the DVD into work again today because a few kids were absent on Tuesday. They all sat to watch it again.
One of the parents shook her head when she came to pick up her 11-year-old son, telling me she had no idea why her other son, a 15-year-old, was even interested in such a cartoon. I told her to give it a chance too, since it's actually a great film for adults. I told her there's a lot of good stuff in it that would probably go over the so-called target audience's heads. They're borrowing the movie tonight, so hopefully she'll like it as much as her kids!
And hopefully I'll get my DVD set back in one piece. Ah, but they're good kids. Still, it's pretty rare for me to let someone borrow one of my DVD's, especially when it's so new!
What have I gotten myself into? All for the sake of spreading the word, I guess.
I guess it's worth noting that I did the same for the Iron Giant a few months ago!
