Pocahontas Cover Art!

Post by Prince Eric »

Wow, I'm so excited that we have SOMETHING to go by now. I really like this cover art. It's the first one to focus on the color green, so they color scheme is a welcomed change. The disc art also looks snazy. Pocahontas herelf is a bit off-model, but hopefully that will change. :D

It really seems to quite match <i>Alice in Wonderland</i>'s cover with the dark outline. Wonder if <i>Lilo & Stitch</i> will too, since these three were originally 'announced' together as "Masterpiece Editions."

Yeah, and now that Sleeping Beauty is part of the Platinum, Pocahontas' cover helps make Alice Masterpiece not a stand alone DVD.

It's a shame tough, Mulan and Brother Bear didn't get the same or similar (SB Special Edition way) treatment.

Very nice! I agree that it matches Alice somewhat, and no doubt, L&S will look similar. The only thing that seems odd is that John Smith isn't on the cover. You'd think they'd have him in the background instead of the other side characters.

Hey, Luke thanks for posting the art cover and discs art of Pocahontas. I really love this film I have the Gold Collection version but it was very bad with the color. I will double dip for Pocahontas. I wonder why it’s not very popular?
It looks really good I like it very much. I really hope it comes with an open book slipcover since it's the 10th Anniversary.

Thank you very very much Luke... :D

Well, better than the GENIE: Aladdin Platinum.

At least Pocahontas' make a statement who the most important characters should be.

I like that Pocahontas cover. I liked a European one I have seen more but this one isn't so bad. It does appear to go well with Alice in Wonderland, which I tohught had a great cover and a satisfying amount of extra material. :)

Well, talking about double dipping Pocahontas it's not so much as such. Taking in consideration the horrible edition we had.

PS

With The Little Mermaid, well it was the only version people could have this movie until PE.

And Mulan was quite good in terms of video and audio quality, so...

Pals brought out a good point in the chat room:

That just may explain his absense!

I really like that green color, it´s very cool; but I agree, John Smith is way more important that Nakoma; and speaking of him, once a girldfriend asked me "what´s the name of Pocahontas´ boyfriend? Will Smith?"

now I´m just waiting for the press realease, I think we´ll have it anytime soon

rofl! Haha, that's cute.

And I like the coverart. It looks familiar (was it the art for the UK and/or Aussie cover?) but it's still nice. I could do with a bit more of a transparent green border, though.

[EDIT: I can't believe I only just noticed John Smith isn't on the cover (he should be--like people've been saying, why is Nakoma there and Smith not?). I'm a bit feverish at the moment, forgive me.]
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.

It is the same as the French Cover (inside the slipcover!)

I just realized the Pocahontas cover doesn't have that "Featuring A Brand New Song" tag at the bottom. Guess only time'll tell.

Not that I'd want to give Disney any ideas or anything. >>;;

I love the cover. Eventhough I already have one with a similair cover, the green outline makes it even better. Can't wait.

don't see what is so beautiful on this cover, it is the same as the single edition no? ? Coz in France, the single edition released years ago had this same cover art:
Image
Was it different in US?

Even if the french has the same cover inside, the exterior is way moer arty, it's good to be french :D:

On a completely off-topic note, that has a strange sense of deja-vu connected to a book that developed into another Disney movie that like Pocahontas never became a Masterpiece on DVD...
