After years of resistance, I finally bought an MP3 player. I had an grandpa moment on the bus, when I suddenly felt like a dinosaur changes CDs on my discman. Sick of the incovenience, I took advantage of a 'portable device' sale at my local hi-fi store, and picked up this little number (this model I think, right down to the colour):

Love my new toy :)

In the Deluxe Strategy Guide, there's an extra book that tells about all the characters in the game (and stickers to use; when you meet a character, there's a marked area to place a sticker); the strategy guide inside is the exact same as the "normal" one, except you'll get one of four different covers.

Personally, I liked the Deluxe guide because of the extra book and the pretty box-cover, but that's just me. (but I went out and bought the normal one anyways).

I FINALLY got a phone in my room today. Up until now I have been go using my cell or going into a non-privet room. I like this phone and it also was an Easter gift. It’s a Panasonic set of 3 (one for the "family", one for me, and one for my sister). I think this is the modal (or more or less) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007Q ... oding=UTF8

Also I got the Red Green version of Monopoly, Possum-Opoly! Image

So am I. I'm a huge Coke advocate, but I have to cross to the dark side when it comes to Wild Cherry Pepsi and Sunkist. I guess I'm a traitor.

Wheee! At last Cassandra and Rose/K9 Action figures:

Image
My own "Bitchy Trampoline".

Image
And my own "Bad Dog" (No, I don't mean Rose!)

In fact, in my mind, it's not Rose, but Rose possessed by Cassandra. Cool. Two Cassandras. And a rusted robot dog.

I did a quick google search for "Stories From Other Lands" (which I was sure was what one of the volumes was called) and I got a book series published by Golden Books in 1965. The one I really liked was the "Walt Disney's America" volume, because it has the Brer Rabbit stories (and it even has Brer Rabbit on the cover!). Another volume in the set was the "Fantasyland" edition which had all the fairy tales condensed into bedtime story length.
I have the Stories From Other Lands book (the one with the bagpipe). I believe one of the stories in there is Darby O'Gill and the Little People. I will have to go find it when I get home tomorrow. If you are interested, I'll tell you the stories that are in it.

Yeah I like Sunkist once in a while but not Wild Cherry Pepsi primarily because I haven't had one in a long time. The occasional beer is good too. ;)
Anyways back on topic...
I just bought a new stereo (Pioneer) for my car. It was a birthday present (okay it's a little early cuz my birthday is tomorrow) for me turning 2 decades old. It is much better than the POS thing I had before. This stereo has just as much if not more functions than my graphing calculator. So it's taking me a long time to learn everything about it.

Lots of books:

Image
The Stone Rose
Mickey is startled to find a statue of Rose in a museum - a statue that is 2,000 years old. The Doctor realizes that this means the TARDIS will shortly take them to Ancient Rome, but when it does, he and Rose soon have more on their minds than sculpture. While the Doctor searches for a missing boy, Rose befriends a girl who claims to know the future. But then, the Doctor stumbles on the hideous truth behind the statue of Rose - and Rose herself learns that you have to be very careful what you wish for...

Image
The Feast of the Drowned
When a naval cruiser sinks in mysterious circumstances in the North Sea, all aboard are lost. Rose is saddened to learn that the brother of her friend, Keisha, was among the dead. And yet, he appears to them as a ghostly apparition, begging to be saved from the coming feast...the feast of the drowned. As the dead crew haunts loved ones all over London, the Doctor and Rose are drawn into a chilling mystery. What sank the ship, and why? When the cruiser's wreckage was towed up the Thames, what sinister force came with it? The river's dark waters are hiding an even darker secret, as preparations for the feast near their conclusion...

Image
The Resurrection Casket
Starfall - a world on the edge, where crooks and smugglers hide in the gloomy shadows and modern technology refuses to work. The pioneers who used to be drawn by the hope of making a fortune from the mines can find easier picking elsewhere. But they still come - for the romance of it, or old-fashioned organic mining. Or in the hope of finding the lost treasure of Hamlek Glint - scourge of the spaceways, privateer, adventurer and bandit. Will the TARDIS ever work again? Is Glint's lost treasure waiting to be found? And does the fabled Resurrection Casket - the key to eternal life - really exist? With the help of new friends, and to the horror of new enemies, The Doctor and Rose aim to find out...

I also got two non-fiction Doctor Who books as well Into the Vortex an account of the behind-the-scenes journey of bringing the 2005 series to the screen, as well as critical reviews of all the episodes, plus About Time 1963-1966 a critical analysis and essays on the first 3 years of the 'classic' series.

Image
Alias Omnibus (Max Comics)
All 28 issues of the MAX Marvel Comic series (its MAX because it has a pottymouth and involves sex at times) plus the What If story What If? Jessica Jones had Joined the Avengers.. Its a brick!

Its a shame Marvel was able to create inteligent, meaningful and challenging titles like this. Now its all overhyped Civil War crossovers and tripe like Planet Hulk. And Alias wasn't that long ago. Why was Marvel more creative when it was bankrupt? Mavel's gone from a second Golden Age to an age of crap.

The iPod & iTunes Pocket Guide (Sadly out of date because there is nothing about the Video iPod. BTW does anybody know how to copy DVDs to iTunes files? Also is it legel? Because I will not do it if its not. )
And Daffy Duck: You're Despicable! (A trade paperback of the best of Daffy Duck in the Looney Tunes comics from issues 38-70 from '98-'00)

<img src="http://image.milehighcomics.com/istore/ ... 134.93.gif" height=180 width=119 align=left> I'd fallen out of comics for a bit last year, but I'm back now that DC Comics are doing their Infinite Crisis and One Year Later storylines. I'm a sucker for a giant crossover, and this is one of the best they've done in years. Birds of Prey #93 (pictured left) takes place during DC's "One Year Later" stories.

All of the titles have jumped forward a year while the Infinite Crisis mini-series - which is re-shaping the DC Universe as we know it - continues. In these OYL issues, we are introduced to the characters one year later, and we are left to wonder what has happened in between. Lots of questions, and the answers are slowly given over the months. It is some of the best writing seen in comics in years. Green Arrow, which is the main title I collect, is on fire at the moment. Very cool stuff.

Another OYL title I picked up was Outsiders #35, a series that sees a team-up between the former Robin, Dick Grayson (aka Nightwing), the former Speedy, Roy Harper (aka Arsenal) and many others. In the OYL timeline, the team doesn't exist per se. What's gone on? I guess I'll find out soon enough...

Finally, a prequel of sorts to Crisis - Infinite Crisis: Secret Files and Origins (pictured below) was purchased.
