The first of three new @Pixar series coming to @DisneyPlus is Dug Days! In this Up spin-off, Dug discovers the dangers of suburbia like puppies, fireworks, and... SQUIRRELS!! Dug Days will premiere on #DisneyPlus in Fall 2021.
Dug Days, which premieres exclusively on Disney+ in Fall 2021, is a new collection of shorts that follows the humorous misadventures of Dug, the lovable dog from Disney and Pixar’s “Up.” Each short features everyday events that occur in and around Dug’s backyard, all through the exciting (and delightfully distorted) eyes of our favorite talking dog. The shorts are written and directed by Academy Award® nominee and Emmy® Award winner Bob Peterson and produced by Kim Collins.
I love Dug and I think this will be really charming & funny. I guess pre-Disney+ they didn't have much inclination to do a mini-series...but Disney+ needs the content! I loved Forky Asks a Question, so I'm really excited for other Pixar short series.
Does Disney really think shorts are going to fuel new subscribers? Give us better long-form entertainment. There’s a million streaming options, this isn’t it.
It's interesting that they're going to release a standalone short. Also, that Carl is going on a date. Judging by the subject, I bet it's released for Valentine's Day.

Bob Peterson says Ed Asner recorded lines for this episode before he passed away:
A new episode of Dug Days is on its way in 2023! It's called "Carl's Date," and we are so excited to share it with you all. And YES the great ED ASNER recorded new lines for this episode before he passed. He did an amazing job.
Dug Day’s ‘Carl’s Date’ to Premiere Ahead of ‘Elemental’ in Theaters – June 16
During our Elemental press days at Pixar animation studios, we were treated to a special screening of Carl’s Date.
Carl’s Date is by far the most emotional short I have yet to view in the entire Pixar catalog. I sat in the Pixar theater with my throat burning as I tried to bottle my emotion, but the phenomenal storytelling of Carl’s Date just took me to an emotional place and made me cry. The care the team took with handling the topic of Carl’s dating was perfect from beginning to end, especially when it came to Ellie.
Carl’s Date isn’t all about Carl. Dug shines bright and has quite possibly turned me (a cat-lover) into a dog lover with this short. The playful pup continues to partake in his silly banter with Carl before he becomes the best friend that we all need. The old saying that a dog is man’s best friend has never been more true.
Carl’s Date pairs perfectly with Elemental as both films will have you reaching for your tissue or shirt sleeve if you forgot your Kleenex.
