DVDizzy should have a "Past Disney Discussion" board

Because why should some of us have to be forced to talk only about modern day Disney when some of us here actually hate almost everything that they do now? Maybe I don't want anything to do with today's Disney and just want to have a place of sanctuary on the forum where I can be nostalgic about the...

Re: Musker & Clements' Moana

Is that supposed to be the final look of the character... because that does not look ANYTHING like painterly style CGI! Did you actually believe Disney would ever release a feature film with an unconventional painterly look? From what I've heard, only the ocean/water will have some sort of painterl...

Re: Nathan Greno's Giants

Basically it's sounding like a giant girl playing with Jack as if he was a dolly. Not that I really care what it's going to be about as long as they're making it be computer animated.

Female giant, huh? Yep, still doesn't beat Willie the Giant for me.

Re: Upcoming WDAS and Pixar release dates

Ice Age Collision Course http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/2012/11/MakeItStop.gif I'd have to agree. Knowing that the first one was originally going to be another Don Bluth film only makes me desire the hand-drawn movie that could have been over the milked CG franchise that it became (and sadly, I coul...

Re: Upcoming WDAS and Pixar release dates

Nice line-up for Pixar. Finding Dory will go up against Ice Age Collision Course next summer while Toy Story 4 will go straight up against Despicable Me 3 in 2yrs. I wonder what sequels will challenge Cars 3 & The Incredibles 2? And you wonder why there's no 2D films  Yeah, it's because of...

Re: Nathan Greno's Giants

interesting, I really hope they dont go for the generic design with the female lead but I have a feeling thats what we'll get. I hope they do something different for the giants too, not just the typical big dumb ogreish look they usually get. Willie the Giant was an awesome dumb giant though. "...

Re: Nathan Greno's Giants

Since Giants will be the Disney adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk , I wonder how long it will take for a Little Red Riding Hood adaptation to be in the works. Except there's already a Disney adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk in the animated features canon... http://images2.fanpop.com/image/ph...

My vote goes to Tim Rice. He wrote "A Whole New World", which is one of the best Disney songs ever made.

Re: Musker & Clements' Moana

I don't like having to look at Rapunzel's butt-ugly CG face myself. I'm certain that the painted style animation would have helped make the characters look much more visually appealing, like Meander did for the characters in Paperman . I actually agree that Rapunzel looked superior and actually mor...

Re: Lion King spin-off "The Lion Guard' to air on Disney Jun

New image and first clip from the show. Well, I have to admit that looked pretty good. The characters are drawn well, the animation is fluid, and even the coloring looks decent. Bravo, Disney. You can still do things right when you want to. Now this just begs the question on why the new Duck...

Re: Musker & Clements' Moana

Although I wouldn't mind a painterly style myself, I grew to like Rapunzel's final design, more than her previous designs. Though I was dissapointed over Tangled's generic CGI look. The best thing would've been to transfer that design into the painterly look. And it would've surprised me if "M...

Re: Untitled Film by Kevin Deters & Stevie Wermers

Well maybe if the people of the Walt Disney Animation Studio would get out of their hopeless delusion that they belong in the world of CGI and bring back their true form of animation, then maybe I wouldn't shoot down every new animated feature that they're preparing to make.

Re: Untitled Film by Kevin Deters & Stevie Wermers

I'm calling it right now... CGI. Yep, I can already see myself not supporting this movie before I even know anything about what it's supposed to be. Cause I'll always be against Disney's practice of abandoning hand-drawn to do CGI no matter what. Also, I didn't bother reading any of Jennifer Lee's d...

Re: Musker & Clements' Moana

Because Disney wanted to be lazy. Actually, I think it has to do with the fact the movie was going through a major development hell. Animation wise, 'Rapunzel Unbraided' looked gorgeous. If what was heard about the original concept was true, though, the plot wouldn't have been as great. Well in the...

Re: The Land Before Time on Blu-ray

I was actually hoping for this after An American Tail on Blu-Ray was released for the first time in it's original theatrical aspect ratio and not in full screen. Now another of my favorite Don Bluth movies is finally getting the same treatment that it should have gotten on DVD or LaserDisc a long ti...
