Re: Star Wars Episode VII (2015)

You guys are weird, I've been to a number of forums talking about it and this is the first one with any real negativity toward the movie. This was a recent Disney release with lots of CGI, no princesses or songs. Of course people here hated it. Or we just have this thing scientists like to call &qu...

Re: Star Wars Episode VII (2015)

I saw Han's death a mile away. Ford wanted him dead, he wants to make Indiana Jones movies, so at this point I fail to see how this is even a spoiler. This was kind of known for a while, even long before Disney had anything to do with it. Be that as it may, it was still upsetting to the kid in me w...

Re: Star Wars Episode VII (2015)

I think I know why this movie is called The Force Awakens now... It's not talking about THE FORCE, it's talking about The Force(d) writing, acting and directing being awoken. (MAJOR) SPOILERS BELOW Kylo Ren was the best part about the movie. I wanted to see more of him and I am very interested in fo...

Re: Fantasia: 2-Movie Collection - 11/30/10 (Part 2)

Yes. the Night on Bald Mountain/Ave Maria was particularly thrilling on the big screen. It's understandably hard for some to appreciate the stillness of Ave Maria after NoBM, but that very stillness almost brought me to tears. The concept is so much more sophisticated than anything else Walt or his ...

Re: Fantasia: 2-Movie Collection - 11/30/10 (Part 2)

Just returned home from EXPERIENCING this glorious movie on the big screen, the way it was meant to be seen. I was completely immersed. I usually start getting sleepy at the start of The Rite of Spring, but myself and my fiancé (who has never seen it all the way through on home video) were completel...

Re: Moana

I'm getting sick and freakin tired of every aspect of every Disney title being torn apart and criticized. I mean, first they aren't culturally diverse, then they do include different cultures and are accused of focusing on stereotypes, or commercializing culture. It's never good enough. Grow the F ...

Yeah, I didn't read that as anything more than "this is something a little different for us" ...I didn't read it at all like he regrets it being CGI.

I might try to go see it. The closest one is a bit of a drive but I've never seen it in theaters before.

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney

I have mixed feelings about Bluth as well, even his best works like NIMH, An American Tail, Land Before Time and to an extent Anastasia, all fall short of being more than just ok to me, while his other works like All Dogs Go to Heaven, Rock a Doodle, Pebble and the Penguin, Troll in Central Park, Th...

He has control over WDAS, and therefore gets to decide what the artists work on. Sucks, cause something that fun would have tipped the scale in my purchasing the Diamond Edition (I already own the UK edition, so skipped out on this release).

Good for her. Hopefully her good sportsmanship rubs off on her less than cooth fans more. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would purposefully bully a 14 YEAR OLD GIRL for any reason, let alone something as petty as casting disagreements. Thankfully the congratulations are far outweig...

So many fond movie memories. When watching Disney films as a kid, he was often our most relatable window into these stories.

RIP Kevin and thank you!

Re: "Return of Jafar" & "Aladdin & the King of Thieves" Blu-

You could just contact Disney and ask them to correct the problem. There is a possibility the blu-ray release will be proper, seeing as the blu-ray and digital copies of the first film are different....but I'm not holding my breath. They are considering this a low-end release so there is no way the...

Seriously. They look awful blown up and cropped like that, particularly King of Thieves IMO.
