Is there any word of this getting a collector's edition box set/special packaging or something? I just got the regular BD of Snow White , as this and Aladdin are the only two I would buy collector's sets of. It would be a shame if we didn't get a book set or something, as I would think this is one o...

I've NEVER seen this film, but really want to. Hopefully it will come out on bluray soon, so I can change that.

I know an unused Imax print was the basis for the Aladdin DVD release, but how drastically different is it from the LD? I'm a huge Aladdin buff and want to know if it's worth the investment. The dialog that some people thought sounded like "teenagers take off your clothes" has been altere...

I just saw the massive thread dedicated to the B&TB debate. I'm definitely gonna go with the widescreen LD version. The darker colors seem more natural and suit the gothic subject matter, in addition to the DVD having additional cropping. Let's hope the upcoming bluray takes a page from the LD a...

Thanks! I'm definitely considering getting the widescreen CAV disc of Beauty and the Beast. As nice as the movie was, it was a chore to watch the pan and scan version on a 16x9 widescreen TV. Also, is it true that the last DVD had altered colors and the LD is the truest to the original theatrical ve...

Anyone familiar with Disney laserdiscs?

Now this is a pretty obscure format question. Since I was late in the game as far as getting into Disney DVDs, I'm pretty much at a point of waiting for the bluray just to get a "definitive" digital version. However, a couple of weeks ago, I went to a local Half Price bookstore and picked ...

Not that it matters much since I'm gonna buy this any way, but if Disney can't come up a half way decent and appealing new cover design, is there any way they would consider adapting either of these to a BD package? http://www.payvand.com/news/03/jan/aladdinDisney.jpg http://www.dominiquebesson.com/...

Generally Arabs are portrayed much worse than Catholics - but it depends upon the show. South Park puts Catholics and Arabs on the same level! South Park is honest in that it portrays *everybody* equally bad. :D No, I just think it's the last group 'we' 'find it acceptable' to ridicule/stereotype a...

Could anyone tell me where the cheapest place to by the Blu-ray (with the DVD) is? My Wal-Mart had it for $29.96. Anywhere else have it cheaper that you know of? Did you not read the thread? Toys R Us - $21.99 I went to TRU today, and they were all marked 29.99. Or is it a 21.99 at the register thi...

Despite the Chinese setting of the original story, I believe Aladdin could take place in a province of Islamic Persia. I read Rasoul Azadani the layout supervisor modeled Agrabah on his home town of Isfahan, Iran. While Aladdin and Jasmine are Arabic names (which are quite common in non-Arab Muslim ...

The Making/Art of Aladdin?

I know there have been a few good cofee-table sized books dedicated to other DACs, such as Hercules and Mulan, but is there a really good, comprehensive "Making of" or "Art of" book available for Aladdin?

Thanks, Ryan

I don't see it so much as "going back to VHS", but rather getting them for almost the price of a rental, and watching them as a place holder until the definitive blu-ray edition comes out. With Disney's current DVD prices, I'd rather just wait for the BD, and get the VHS versions to hold m...

Should I get into Disney VHS?

Yes, I have a DVD player, and even a Blu Ray player, but ever since I got my BD player, I really don't feel the need to pay over 20 bucks for a standard DVD, when I can just wait for a better looking BD instead. Unfortunately, it was only a few months ago, I really got into tradtional animation. Whi...

This and Aladdin are my two most wanted BDs (though moreso with Aladdin.) I loved Hercules as a kid, but recently rewatching it somewhat dissapointed me. Artistically, it looks great; most of the songs are catchy and memorable, and James Woods is fantastic and by far the best thing about the movie; ...

Is there ANY chance this might get a Blu Ray release in 2010 to coincide with the theatrical release of PRINCE OF PERSIA? That film is being distributed by Disney, and has a similar 1001 Nights-style fantasy setting. They just might want to cash-in on the Middle-Eastern fantasy genre and bring this ...

Considering the second disc from my Platinum set isn't dissapearing anytime soon, I'm not sure what the fuss is about. However, IMO, it really is one of Disney's finest, and it would be a shame to have its legacy and quality undermined in a future release. However, if we get a good blu ray edition w...

Is it new? Is it used, but in good condition? If I had store credit, I wouldn't think twice about getting it. It really is a great series, and the Treasures set made me appreciate it even more. However, if I had to pay the whole thing in cash, I don't know if I'd pay more than 40 bucks, plus tax. Bu...
