Hi;
I've been away from this forum for a couple of years, but I remembered it as the place to find out answers to stuff.
My question is: With all the other Heisei Godzilla movies getting the blu-ray treatment, why is Godzilla vs. Biolante still languishing in the pits of OOP Hell?

Re: Popeye DVDs
Without Dave Fleisher or Seymour Kneitel, my hope for this new movie is extremely limited.Mickeyfan1990 wrote:From what I've heard, Warner plans to release the Famous Studios Popeyes when the Sony film gets greenlit (FYI, still going at Sony, but without Genndy unfortunately).

Popeye DVDs
OK, so now they brought out those limited animation cartoons of the 60's.
Why won't they finish up the Famous Studios run?
Some of my favorite Popeye shorts should be in that set.

WOW! I just saw what they are asking for it now. I better get the Herculoids while I can.milojthatch wrote:It's interesting you bring this up as this very set has now gone into OOP status. I barley picked my copy up and paid a little more than I would have liked to.

Space Ghost and Dino By DVD set
Apparently, as well as using dual sided discs, Warner decided to rearrange the order of the episodes. IMDB has accepted the broadcast order as given on the discs, but other sites such as http://www.tv.com/shows/space-ghost-and-dino-boy/episodes/ and http://toonami.wikia.com/wiki/Space_Ghost:_Episode...

Try FYE
I called around and found one at a local FYE. I had to pay list price, but that is prolly the only reason they weren't sold out.

WOOO HOOOO!!!!
I found a copy of Dr. Syn at FYE. I had to pay list price, but it is a bargain compared to ebay.
How does FYE stay in business? Doesn't everyone know their prices are the highest to be found?

I think this is quite simple: If you think you want the Treasures just buy/order them immediately. To me they are pretty much the most important DVD release of the year (any year), so I'm never in doubt. I'm normally out there on day-1 of the release, but I got distracted this year and forgot the r...

Hijacked.
I truely think the market for the Dr.Syn DVD is being manipulated by speculators. It's like most of the copies were hijacked before they got to the stores so they could be auctioned on ebay. I've been almost every store in syracuse today and none of them even recall ever having a copy of "Dr. S...

Japanese sci-fi from @1960.
I am looking for a movie that I saw as a child. It had what I perceived at the time as really great SFX. It had space battles with earth ships vcersus alein ships, disintegrator beams flashing. I think we had a base on the moon. The title I remember was something like "War of the Planets"....

What's the deal with all these different companies owning the rights to the Godzilla movies. You can't get a collection in a consistent format the way things are.

Price must come down
I don't get why a blu-ray DVD should cost $8 to $10 more than the equivalent standard DVD. The effect this is having on me is that I will wait for the price to come down, both for player and discs. And part of that waiting is that I will hold off buying standard DVDs that I might want in blu-eray ev...

I'm waiting.
I'm holding off on blu-ray because. 1) The players are overpriced. 2) The discs are way overpriced. I understand that the price of blu-ray players actually jumped right after Toshiba gave up on HD. They need to bring the prices down because, 1) I doubt sales of discs will compete with DVDs until the...

No, they are not stretching the picture. I'd have noticed that immediately.ichabod wrote:Yes.bmadigan wrote:So are they chopping off the top and bottom of the full screen picture in order to do wide screen?
Either that or it could be stretching the picture out. Either way both are undesireable.

Amazon has reduced the price on a lot of older Doctor Who DVDs. The entire Key to Time Collection is going for $60.

Digital TV question
I just got a Digital TV, but it is not HD. It picks up analog and Digital channels of the air with the aid of a $16 rabbit ears antenna. The digital channels have amazing pictures on channels that have muddy/ghosty reception in analog mode. My question, though is this. I have the choice of aspect ra...

Neither
I wouldn't order either one. I get my wings from local pizzerias, like Wings Over Syracuse. Best wings I've ever had were from teh Screamin' Eagle in Inlet NY.
