Re: Wish

As a longtime reader and rare poster of this forum, I now have the urge to give my 2 cents here. I've seen Wish in 3D two weeks ago with my wife in a near empty cinema in Vienna and ... we loved it! Sure, I lowered all my expectation after reading the reviews and everything posted here, that helped....

Re: The Lion King (Live-Action)

Sorry to say, but these take me back to 1994/95 when cheap Lion King rip-off products were flooding the market.

Re: The Lion King (Live-Action)

I‘m kind of speechless. This gives me huge uncanny valley vibes. Am I in the minority with this? The whole thing looks and feels like a cheap CGI rip-off off the original. Why do I have the feeling this will still make hundreds of millions of dollars?

Re: Disney Classics on 4K UHD Coming!

Why would Disney wait this long to put the animated clsssics on 4K when 8K is around the corner??? They should just wait for 8K. I refuse to quadruple dip!!!! I hardly think the human eye is capable to distinguish between 4K and 8K on the small screen. Most cinemas show films in 2K without people c...

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

I for my part find this a great idea. Getting a new perspective to the classics is in my opinion more interesting than just reproducing what we already have. Who cares about skin color? If the screenplay and acting is good and we get some new Alan Menken tunes, I'm in! :milkbuds:

Re: Tangled: The Series

Wow, the journal looks fantastic! So much love put into the concept of the show. So far I quite like the sereis, gorgeous art and fun little stories, though the pilot film stood out in that regard. Now let's hope we will get more Alan Menken songs. Any word, if he just wrote those two for the p...

Susan Egan singing “How Does A Moment Last Forever" and other B&tB songs! (via thedisneyblog.com) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwLDZC-zS7w Thanks for sharing! I still can't understand why they chose autotuning over a trained singing voice in the movie. The music, including the new parts...

Wow! The pilot was impressive! I never thought I'd enjoy it that much. Somehow, everthing turned out right. Gorgeous art, great music and the story added depth to the characters. Hopefully the rest of the series willl be as good. :milkbuds:

Re: iMDb is deleting all their message boards

Was I angry when I heard about that decision. And I'm usually a calm person. I used to look up personal opinions and intriguing interpretations of films on those boards. I'm glad we still have this forum for Disney related discussions. For any other films an alternative has yet to be found. I...

It was his fault. If he hadn't smoked like a chimney most of his life he might have lived to make his EPCOT dram a reality. Why didn't his relatives take the cigarettes away? When my dad's health due to heavy smoking mom wouldn't stop him from smoking cause she said he would just get some more and ...

Re: What's the biggest cheap Disney rip-off?

It happened to me at first too. But then I learnt that if you delete the "s" in "https" at the beginning of the link to the image, it lets you attach it. Well, at least in most cases. Sometimes it doesn't work even after doing that. Also, if the image is wider than 900 pixels, I...

Re: What's the biggest cheap Disney rip-off?

I'd count this as "inspired by". As they say, nothing in art is original. Everything is put together piece by piece from things done before – consciously or uncounsciously. Take a look the costume design of SHE (1935). Looks familiar, doesn't it? :) Here's a link to the image: https://s-me...

Re: Trouble with the Pocahontas Legacy Collection

Are you sure there's a bonus clip? I couldn't find a hint neither on the packaging (+sticker) nor the disc itself. The problem I have is very annoying. My first disc keeps skipping randomly. And I just took it out of the sleeve for the first time... I never have this kind of trouble with my ...

So, will it be live action or animated? I hope the latter. The story sounds fantastic, perfect for an atmospheric adventure film.

In case anyone living in/near Germany wants to join the cast, here are the details from the official call for audition: „DISNEYS ALADDIN“ Based on the much loved animated film, ALADDIN: The New Stage Musical tells the story of a street- smart commoner whose whole life changes with one rub of a magic...

Re: New Disney's Fantasia film??

I still don't understand why they can't just put together all existing Fantasia 2006 shorts, create two or three more shorts with new technology like meander and/or CGI and add Claire de Lune as a vintage segment. Now they only have to shoot an appealing framework and, voilà, a prestige Disney film ...
