Re: Wicked: The Musical: The Movie

Duster, thank you for sharing this trailer! Somehow, I missed it so if you hadn’t posted it, I might not have watched it!

Anyway, I think it looks better than I ever expected? Even Ariana. My big reservation, that I keep returning to is, why two parts??

But I’m very much looking forward to this.

Re: LGBT Disney

Rasmussen is a famously conservative polling group whose results often skew towards conservative biases.

Anyways, Disney dropped the 2024 Pride Collection on the Disney Store website earlier this week. There was a nice sweatshirt and much other merch.

Re: Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams DVD

Yeah, then you bought the re-release. I think it had a sneak peek at The Princess and the Frog, and two music videos for Cinderella and Mulan. They re-released it in September 2009 to promote the then upcoming Princess and the Frog. Ahh, okay!! That makes sense. Wow this dreck has 50 pages, didn't ...

Re: The Little Mermaid (TV series) vs The Little Mermaid 2 vs The Little Mermaid 3

My initial thought was to answer Ariel’s Beginning, since it has better animation and lots of screen time for the sisters. But I think the series has too many strong episodes that would actually edge out either of the movies… so the series!

Re: Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams DVD

There was a re-release? It may be different in different territories, but this title is pretty easily/cheaply available in the US on eBay. I bought a new, sealed copy on eBay back in 2021 for about $15. And looking now, most prices range between $5-$15. Disney DVDs are super cheap on the second hand...

Re: Wish

I have a Disney Store outlet about 1.5/2 hours from me, and I really hope I can find the big Star plush on clearance there the next time I visit. I think the MSRP was $40 or $50, so no way I would buy it without a discounted price. I think that’s the only thing that I want, but I might consider the ...

Re: The Tinker Bell Film Series

Yes, because once again, one of their videos is purposefully misleading you. Ask yourself, if the character is “problematic,” why would they be axing her from only one US park, and not all of them? Isn’t California more “woke” than Florida? If that’s the case, why would you leave Tink in CA but not ...

Re: The Tinker Bell Film Series

Tinker Bell hasn’t had a meet and greet in Walt Disney World since the start of the pandemic. However, Tinker Bell still flies over the crowd during the Happily Ever After Fireworks show (safety precautions permitting). Tinker Bell still meets in Disneyland at Pixie Hollow. I tried to look it up and...

The next Limited Edition doll coming to DisneyStore.com is this Queen Amidala doll set to be released on May the 4th for $130: https://www.instagram.com/p/C6aPG9sIZue ... QycTI1Zg==

I don’t collect Star Wars, but it’s a pretty doll.

Re: Mufasa: The Lion King (Live-Action)

Can't decide whether them ratifying the canonization of Kiara is validating or pandering. Personally, I think it’s pretty charming. They’re even using Scar’s name of “Taka” which goes back to a 1994 tie-in children’s book. It may not amount to anything, but I think it’s a good sign that the filmmak...

Re: Mufasa: The Lion King (Live-Action)

I read a description that the framing device of the movie is Rafiki in the present relating the story of Mufasa’s youth to a young Kiara through flashbacks. So I am guessing that’s how Beyoncé and the rest of the cast from the first film will reappear here. And Blue Ivy I guess will play Kiara. Re: ...

Re: Will Disney Ever Recover?

Farerb, I agree with you. The seeds of the company’s current issues were sown during Bob Iger’s first tenure as CEO. I’m glad Iger survived the recent challenge from Nelson Peltz, but Disney does need a new vision. Personally, though, I can’t muster much doom and gloom. I’ve been through this before...

Yes, the forum members point that out. It is very strange, and the reference to “opening” a show may have been in error, or even for a one-night limited engagement.

Re: Wicked: The Musical: The Movie

That poster seems to reference Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam… which just feels like a reference for reference’s sake. It doesn’t seem to fit the story of Wicked? lol

On the other hand, I’ve liked the other stuff we’ve seen from the film. I am mostly worried about how it will work as a two-parter.

Re: Disney Dolls

I think my favorite Anastasia look is the long dark navy dress she wears to the Cinderella ballet, and I like it on the doll too. And even though the colors are not film-accurate at all, the special edition one (golden box) is also gorgeous and very detailed. That is a beautiful doll! It’s also my ...
