Re: Percy Jackson and the Olympians (TV Series)

No news on season 2 yet, but I took some delight in this little crossover https://www.instagram.com/p/C5aUF_ZuG8M/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=e8921983-e84c-403e-8f28-e12489263c1f Screenshot_6-4-2024_175510_www.instagram.com.jpeg Again, kinda weird to see Disney double-dipping with this show. Pus...

Re: If you HAD to greenlight a sequel to a Disney classic, which one (and why)?

I don't know who I would judge more from that encounter. Hubert for sleeping with Maleficent or Maleficent for sleeping with Hubert. rotfl    Anyways, I could actually see a Dumbo sequel working out fairly well. I want to see that elephant spread his wings (ears?) a little more once ...

Re: Most anticipated Disney movie of 2025

Elio and Avatar 3 are the only ones safely on my list at the moment. I have question marks around Zootopia 2 and Thunderbolts.

I currently have an ulcer named after the Snow White remake.

Re: Moana 2

I stand corrected then. I echo what others have already said that using a number is not very classy or elegant, especially when it comes to their 'princess' movies. It's more acceptable with properties like Zootopia, Wreck-It Ralph or Strange World, but it doesn't look good with their fairytale/fan...

Well, I guess it's time we put this one up again for all those who still think that poor little Lassseter's sins amount to nothing more than "hugging." Dropping two particularly relevant passages here. I'll add in a trigger warning, I suppose, that the post details some instances of sexual...

Re: The Cheapquels were also trying to fix the mistakes of their predecessors, not only the Remakes

And they'd make Snow White and Sleeping beauty sequels to make them action heriones. I can only imagine ... (Well, with the way the Snow White remake is going, maybe I won't have to.) Anyways, I get the opposite idea from Cinderella 3. Tremaine's whole plot is centered on the idea that Cinderella a...

Since I'm already on a roll with ranking WDAS films. The Honor Guard 1. Finding Nemo 2. The Incredibles 3. Ratatouille 4. ONWARD 5. Monsters Inc. 6. Elemental 7. Coco 8. Turning Red Still Better Than Anything I'll Ever Make 9. Toy Story 2 10. LUCA 11. Toy Story 3 12. Inside Out 13. a bug's life 14. ...

Re: Rank *all* the animated classics that you've seen in order!

By nature of the subjects, a lot of this ranking comes down to my emotional response, but my emotional response is also pretty tightly knit with how I think the film works as a vessel of filmmaking. OLYMPUS 1. The Little Mermaid 2. Beauty and the Beast 3. The Jungle Book 4. Tangled 5. Snow White and...

Huh. Did I know that Flounder and Sebastian were going to have the same designs as the animated film, but no one else?

The uncanniness of this all is just growing.

Re: Your top 5 favorite and least favorite Disney movies...and

Top 5 1. The Little Mermaid - Seldom in history have music, art, and story worked together to make something so moving. Everything works in this film. 2. Beauty and the Beast - Okay, like one other time. 3. The Jungle Book - The character animation is as good as anything Disney has ever done, and th...

Re: The Lion King Discussion

The best continuation they could have done to the original Lion King is making a Lion King themed "Fantasia" with the music from Rhythm of the Pride Lands back in the '90s. Now "He Lives in You" will forever be associated with the mediocre sequel. I mean, the Broadway show is wi...

Beast looks like he could kill you, but is actually a cinnamon roll. Princess Jasmine looks like a cinnamon roll, but could actually kill you. Prince Eric looks like a cinnamon roll, and is actually a cinnamon roll. Nala looks like she could kill you, and could actually kill you. https://media2.gip...

I kinda felt like Camillo was the most underused family member in the entire film. I'm pretty sure Camillo and Mirabel's only interaction was that one time when he was disguised as Dolores. He didn't get any kind of family therapy session with Mirabel and played very little part in her mission to sa...

Re: The new Princesses being excluded from the lineup

Count me in as part of the "slow down on the princesses" club. I think some of Disney's greatest movies have been led by a princess character, but they absolutely do not need to take up so much of the conversation. It is kind of an uphill battle at times trying to convince people that most...

It did not get much media coverage beyond her social media, a couple articles announcing it, and a review by Aaron Wallace , who felt compelled to write his article because, in his words, "what Jodi Benson did on that stage simply cannot remain exclusively in the memory of a few hundred Florid...

Okay, she looks EXACTLY like Rapunzel right at the 1:00 mark.

Anyways, Ariel really is one of the most beautifully animated characters in all of history.

Except maybe Brave or Toy Story 4... :shifty: Why do you hide? You're among friends. Anyways, I have tremendous respect for Miyazaki and all he's done for animation, but I will admit that his films tend to be a hit or a miss for me personally. The Boy and the Heron isn't really even on my calendar....
