Re: Why people differentiate traditional animation and CGI?

I could understand some people liking CGI over hand-drawn animation because they can better relate to a three-dimensional world and characters because they live in a three-dimensional world with three-dimensional beings.

Re: Frozen 2 (2018?)

Noooo! Quite a lot of us love hating on Hans and don't want him to reform! http://www.peta2.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/what-did-you-say-kitty.gif Some people ACTUALLY like him as a villian/ character and he's a important character whether they redeem him or not, hence why he's usually on poster...

Re: The Princess and the Frog Discussion - Part III

“I was a Disney kid,” she [Anika Noni Rose] told us, “My first Disney film was Fantasia, which I thought was phenomenal. I just loved that world. The world of voices, and pretend.” It was also a world limited to peach-skinned Prince Charmings and fair-complexioned princesses. “I remember talking to...

Re: John Henson (1965-2014)

Ohmigosh! That's terrible! I was 15 when my father died of a heart attack at home. Me, my mother, my brother (then 10-years-old), and my sister (then eight-years-old) were all in the house at the time. I had to rush through the dining room where dad collapsed and mom was kneeling next to him so I co...

Re: Life Size is Getting a Sequel

"Shine bright/shine far/be a star/where you live/who you are/be a star" I haven't seen that film for twelve years and I remember the tune and lyrics of the jingle in the Eve commercial which is kind of sad. :-P I like the original film and am curious to see how a sequel turns out.

Re: Disney designs you don't care for

Princess Jasmine running around in just a bra and pants. She should be wearing a dress. Ariel and the mermaids in seashells are just as bad. They need to put something on. Jasmine's in the desert, it's too fucking hot to put on a dress. As for Ariel...Mermaids always wear bras. Either that or they'...

Re: Least attractive Disney characters

With or without transformations/disguises? Jafar looks attractive but when he's disguised as an old man, he is so disgusting it's nicer to look at the Queen's hag form. Merida definitely. I think the animators drew her that way on purpose, but she's easily one of the least attractive leads. She has ...

I'm surprised there wasn't a polar bear to be seen in the film. People get attacked by polar bears in Norway.

Little Kristoff has joined THE ANIMATOR'S COLLECTION http://31.media.tumblr.com/0f4b8eb3f649af2c552d546b6022dd8e/tumblr_my2n8tBE3B1sx3dvjo1_500.jpg I saw that pic and it struck me he looks a little like Hermey the elf from Rudolph. :D I'm glad they decided to make a doll of kid Kristoff. The doll i...

Re: Worst Disney Songs

"A Guy Like You" from Hunchback is really bad and very out of place. That's the worst Disney song for me. They didn't need a song. Why couldn't the gargoyles have been doing a play about Quasi (Hugo) hiding Esmerelda (Laverne) in different places from Frollo (Victor) to cheer up Quasimodo...

Re: Frozen: Part V

The film is delightful! I think the fireplace scene with Anna and Olaf is more touching than any scene focusing on Anna and Kristoff's growing friendship. However, the fireplace scene is not more touching than any scene focusing on Anna and Elsa's bond when they were kids and rekindled bond when the...

Re: Frozen: Part V

I love the attention to details in animated films. Including the details that don't matter in the grand scheme of things but it's still great they're there. Look at one of Anna's dresses here. The embroidery designs could have been solid colors instead of individual threads with black fabric peeking...

I knew Funko made My Little Pony cupcakes (I hang in the MLP community a lot) but I hadn't heard of or seen the Disney cupcakes before seeing this thread. Weirdly cute idea but I like it. I want the Lilo and Stitch ones the most.

Re: Saving Mr. Banks

Last Saturday, I bought a Mary Poppins chords/piano book printed in 1965 for seven dollars at a thrift store in my town. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it! How strange I found this item when the release of Saving Mr. Banks in theaters (which I've wanted to see since I first heard about it) is...

According to Entertainment Weekly , there is a deleted scene that involves both Mike and Sulley in the 4th grade. Oh my goodness! I wanted to see more of Mike as a kid anyway and I've been curious about how Sulley looked as a kid (I know he'd be cute but how are his body proportions?) since watchin...

Re: The Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition - Fall 2013

Has anyone noticed that the first times Ariel´s on screen (when she´s exploring the sunken ship) her hair stands out? Like it´s placed over the background. I've noticed it! I think it pops because it's a cheerful bright color against a blend of dark and dull colors. Like a red balloon floating away...
