I just rented Steamboy and it was so awsome! I recommend anyone who hasn't seen it to watch it regardless if you're into anime or not. I just wish I could've seen it in the theater with the big screen.

I wonder how well Howl's Moving Castle would've done if it was maketed as a Quentin Tarantino movie instead of a Hayao Miyazaki film. That trick worked for Disney with the film Hero. Tarantino is a fan of the old 70's martial art movies especially Jackie Chans, so there is no suprise there w...

I wouldn't really worry about the statistics for his movies here in the states, as long as his movies are doing well in Asia is what's more important. Miyazake himself has said that too that he is more concerned about how well his films turn out in Asia then the US. Also, Summer season (especially A...

Yes, but a majority of the population likes 3d better than 2d, believes Shrek and Nemo are the best animated movies ever, and thinks all anime is stupid. So I just inferred. I thought I read somewhere (after Spirited Away) he was taking his films in 3D with coloring it to look 2D, sort of like Tita...

DisneyFan 2000, I wasn't trying to be all in your face about how great anime is, I was trying to say there are different varieties in anime like American movies and how Miyazake films are all high quality that well deserved the Oscar for Spirited Away. In my opinion, he should've won an Oscar long b...

It's like speaking to a wall, isn't it? So, what does that supposed to mean? How much anime have you seen? Have you seen any of the anime that I've listed? Those aren't even all the anime I've seen (the're just a fraction). What really annoys me are people that judge something that they know...

How so? I don't judge anime, my comment was strictly pointed towards Spirited Away. Miyazaki films are anime though, you said similiar things that dvdjunkie has said about disliking the story, the high voices, and the animation being stiff for some reason. Seems to me you were agreeing with dvdjunk...

You could be right about the language, it's been awhile since I've seen Lupin.

Little Red Henski, I was talking about the animations that Miyazake produced. I know there are different animators for Studio Ghibli.

You also forgot Porco Rosso his most "adult" film. All his films have some sort of adult themes. "Porco Rosso," "Princess Mononoke" and "Nausicaa" all have the most adult themes with Studio Ghibli, but his most adult film is actually "Castle of Cagliostr...

You might want to check out his other movies like Princess Mononoke and Castle of Cagliostro (though all his movies are worth seeing).

To be honest, I just didn't like it period. To start off, the voice of the actors was awful. It seemed like they were all told to speak at their squeakiest level. Also, animation of the characters was stiff and really unbelievable. Her facial expressions hardly ever change and when she runs it seem...

There's nothing wring with liking mainstream, as I have said before, I thoroughly enjoyed X2: X-Men United and Spider-Man 2. I would suggest becoming familiar with member's viewing habits for passing judgements. I do actually know that, I stand behind what I said. I mean, if I see a movie, and stil...
