As far as I know the gender change was made recently so they might as well have taken an existing character and made a few changes instead of creating a completely new model due to lack of time.

I'm just glad this movie won't need a lot of terrible CGI like other remakes. The only worry is Pascal, but I hope he's treated more like how the mice in Cinderella were. The animal sidekicks don't really translate well in live action so I prefer that they tone down both Pascal and Maximus and their...
