August 30, 2003 - Apparently, there's been changes to the features for The Santa Clause 2 DVD. Whereas the original press release specified an audio commentary with Tim Allen (which we later learned was to be in character as "Santa") and Spencer Breslin, the commentary will apparently just be with TV-turned-film director Michael Lembeck. The "Naughty and Nice" set-top game is now actually "Operation Toy Box: Save Santa."
Gone are the Hilary Duff music video (which also would have been on the VHS also), and the e-cards. In are the following DVD-ROM features: Coloring Book Activity, "Reindeer Games" Game, "Santa's Lib's" Activity, and "Holiday Rush!" Game. Deleted scenes still appear to be included (there will be 7 of them), as will a gag reel, the "True Confessions of Legendary Figures" interviews with mythical characters (hopefully, the film's actors will be part of this) and the "Inside the North Pole with Curtis" making-of featurette. Finally, the "Special Effects Featurette" presumably has been renamed "Director's Tour of Elfsburg Featurette."
As always, everything's subject to change and though Disney's video site still lists it, I imagine there won't be a DTS track, in addition to the Dolby Digital tracks in English, Spanish, and French that are included. I guess this is why Santa checks the list twice.

Amazon.com has done a great deal of price-lowering on some of the most notable upcoming DVD releases, including The Lion King Collector's Gift Set, Sleeping Beauty, and the 4 upcoming Walt Disney Treasures, all of which are now 30% off or greater. If you've already placed orders, they've been automatically lowered. If you've been holding off for a better deal, it might be worth revisiting the Complete Upcoming Disney DVD Release Schedule.

August 24, 2003 - Cover art for Recess: All Growed Down:

Guess this bears repeating...People may wonder why "UltimateDisney.com" appears on the big cover and disc art from this site. Is Disney really promoting our site on their artwork? Of course not. But I pay for bandwidth and I know they'll get distributed all over the Internet, and without a link to the site. So, if you're going to use bandwidth, you might as well let people know from where the images come. I'd much rather people visit the site than just use bandwidth elsewhere, so links to THE SITE (not just the images) are always preferred. Thanks!
