July 30, 2003 - More details on some of this fall's Disney DVD releases. Two Wonderful World of Disney original telemovies - Eloise at the Plaza starring Julie Andrews and The Music Man starring Matthew Broderick - will be released on November 11. Both television movies are presented in their original 1.33:1 fullscreen aspect ratios and 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtracks. The Music Man features a behind-the-scenes making-of featurette and a special exclusive performance of "'Til There Was You." SRP is $24.99 for each.
Then, on December 9, comes more television on DVD - in the form of two DVD releases of the Disney Channel's popular "Lizzie McGuire" series: "Growing Up Lizzie" and "Fashionably Lizzie." No word yet on how many or which episodes will be featured on each disc. In the UK, "Lizzie" has been released chronologically by production order in Volumes:
We've put together a 2-page set of captures previewing more Lion King DVD extra features, specifically the new "Circle of Life" music video performed by "The Disney Channel's Circle of Stars" - Hilary Duff, Christy Romano, A.J. Trauth, Orlando Brown, Tahj Mowry, Kyla Pratt, and Anneliese Van Der Pol. Check it out now.

July 26, 2003 - Amazon.com supposedly has some copies of the out-of-print Limited Edition Mickey Mouse in Black & White Walt Disney Treasures Tin in stock again. Probably not for long, though.
July 23, 2003 - Just posted some stills of sketches from Sleeping Beauty's DVD galleries and menus from Stitch! The Movie DVD.
July 22, 2003 - Rogue588 reports on our forum that Disney has agreed to replace dissatisfied customers' fullscreen colorized The Absent-Minded Professor (released last January) with the new & improved, anamorphic widescreen, black & white DVD, scheduled for release on September 2. A polite call may get a positive results for you - the phone number is 1-800-72-DISNE. Not only does this bode well for individual customers, but hopefully it will show Disney the number of people who actively prefer widescreen DVDs for widescreen films.
July 18, 2003 - A new larger look at the Lion King DVD Collector's Gift Set box. Disney will be running a Buy 3 Get 1 Free Promotion from September 9 through the end of December, similar to last year's. No word yet on what will be offered as a free selection, but shipping is $1.99 like last year.
July 17, 2003 - Thanks to Gus, we have added some captures from Piglet's Big Movie standard-sized DVD - there are 3 pages of Sleeping Beauty preview captures and a page of shots from Piglet's DVD menus and features.
July 12, 2003 - Disney has released at least part of their 2003 Holiday Gift Guide previewing DVD releases from later this year - Wave 3 of the Walt Disney Treasures, The Santa Clause 2, The Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, and something entirely new - Lilo & Stitch: Island of Adventures DVD game. We've also updated the Upcoming Releases section.
July 10, 2003 - Just posted 8 menu screens from Disc 1 of The Lion King! Also, November 4 has been officially set as the DVD release date for Finding Nemo. Finally, full-sized cover art for September 2nd's widescreen black & white re-release of The Absent-Minded Professor DVD has been added to Upcoming Cover Art.
July 8, 2003 - Europeans and others with multi-region capability will be glad to know that the 3 Love Bug film sequels - Herbie Rides Again, Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo, and Herbie Goes Bananas - will be released to DVD in Region 2 on August 11. You can pre-order the Herbie Collection at Amazon.co.uk.
July 4, 2003 - I've added a preview page for Stitch! The Movie, with some screenshots from the "Experiment Gallery" bonus feature, from the upcoming DVD.
In a pleasantly surprising move, Disney will be re-releasing The Absent-Minded Professor to DVD on September 2, a day already filled with catalogue releases. This time, the movie will be properly presented in its original form - widescreen and black & white. SRP is $19.99 and you can now pre-order it from Amazon.com for $14.99. Hopefully, this is a sign of more widescreen DVD corrections of previously-modified-Fullscreen DVDs to come.
Yet another September 2 release: an 8-disc Vault Disney box-set containing 2002's double-disc releases of Old Yeller, Pollyanna, Swiss Family Robinson, and The Parent Trap (1961). Amazon.com now has the set up for pre-order for just $49.49 with free shipping, a nice way to pick up all 4 sets if you haven't already. (Don't let Amazon's listing confuse you - it actually contains all 4 movies and 4 discs of extras, not just 2 movies and 4 discs as they indicate.)
If you're a Costco member, Matt informs me, you can get this set right now for just around $45, making the deal even sweeter (and more immediate) if you're lucky enough to be near a Costco store.
July 2, 2003 - Added full-sized cover art for the animated Brave Little Toaster trilogy and Fox's made-for-TV Wonderful World of Disney sequel Home Alone 4 to the Upcoming Cover Art section.

July 1, 2003 - September's Special Edition DVDs of The Apple Dumpling Gang, Escape to Witch Mountain, and Return from Witch Mountain will all be presented in 1.75:1 anamorphic widescreen and 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtracks.
The Apple Dumpling Gang will include an audio commentary with stars Tim Conway, Don Knotts, Susan Clark, and Brad Savage, the short "Two Gun Goofy" short, A Look Back with the Gang, Conversations with Tim Conway, Disney's Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy Heroes, Lost Treasures: The Disney Back Lot, Galleries with Stills, Biographies & Artwork, and the 1975 Studio Album.
Escape to Witch Mountain will include an audio commentary with Ike Eisenmann, Kim Richards, and director John Hough, "Pluto's Dream House" short, Making the Escape, Conversations with John Hough, Disney Effects - Something Special, Disney Sci-Fi, and the 1975 Studio Album.
Its sequel, Return From Witch Mountain also includes a commentary with Eisenmann, Richards and Hough, plus the animated short "The Eyes Have It", Making the Return Trip, Lost Treasures: Christopher Lee - The Lost Interview, Disney's Kids with Powers, The Gang's Back in Town, 1978 Studio Album, and the theatrical trailer.
SRP for each Special Edition is $24.99. Full-sized cover art for these can be found in, you guessed it, Upcoming Cover Art.
