Bob Eger at the disney Q2 earnings he said the company has changed its platinum schedule to release 2 a year one in march and one in october and all the tittles will be released by 2007, after lion king the 2 a year will kick in! beside the platinum tittles coming early we will get 2 disc set of pinocchio, sleeping beauty, peter pan and fantasia!!!!!!!!

also no more 10 year moratorium, pixars films will go into a 5 year moratorium and he did say the windows of time will change and perhaps reduce.

yeah i just listened to it again it seems that sleeping beauty, peter pan, pinocchio and fantasia are going in the platinum tittle list which means they are getting the platinum banner.

so when sleeping beauty comes out this year it will be a platinum edition?

Why is Fantasia getting a Platinum Edition? The Fantasia Anthology was a killer CE. I guess we might get it uncut though. Hopefully they won't re-use material.

As for the others, that's great, because I haven't bought any previous editions. A great move for Disney.

We'll never see this uncut again. Same with the rest of the movies with edited scenes...

Then, I'm sorry, but there's no point to buying a Fantasia Platinum.

I think Fantasia and Sleeping Beauty WOULD be the same things they've already put out but with a different label. Except Disc 3 of the Anthology would probably lose the Fantasia 2000 and become Disc 2 for that. But Peter Pan and Pinocchio would have to get new, improved sets, no?

I think the Sleeping Beauty release coming in September is unaffected. It will become Platinum at some point in the future, that's the way I take it.

well it will be stupid if they did that cause the moratorium tittle is only 5 years and if they want all the rest of the tittle out by 05 adding sleeping beauty till throw the 2 movies cycle off

So maybe they'll call the September release a Platinum then. I'm confused.

or maybe they will pull it forward, i doubt they will but they are starting it this year the 2 a year with sleeping beauty added to the platinum and next year they will start their official march and october strategy till october 07.

Well, I just thought about the whole "Fantasia" Deal. I came to thinking it might be the Fantasia 2006?!?!?!

That is a very great possibility. However, I'm not sure, but it would rule if this is sooo.
