My French isn't exactly great and due to the lack of picture I'm even more confused, but all the other Brother Bear DVDs on the site are the previous editions, so by a process of elimination I would guess this should be the 2 disc!
Also some sites, (not this one) are listing the new French 2 disc as 1:85:1. Is this a typo or have they disappointed us by not releasing the full 2:35:1 version again?

I'm bumping this thread because I have a (kinda) relivant question. Has the Brother Bear 2-Disk DVD been released in any European country? I really want this movie but it seems to be available in zone 1 only..

It is available in France:
http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006A9MGC/qid=1107032447/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2_2/171-2202661-2397063
And I think it has an extra bonus feature that R1 doesn't have, although don't wuote me on that!

No it does not really look odd! I don't really care about the packaging being in French, the content is much more important! And no the only places where you can find Brother Bear saying 'Brother Bear' in English is the UK, US and Australia.

Same as UK. The cover from the US is slightly different (just the logo).

Yea, the U.S. has a 2-disc set of
Brother Bear (and only a 2-disc set--there was no standard edition released).
And again, yep, no slipcover.

I'm curious as to why they decided to skimp on a slipcover for
BB when it seemed to certain it'd have one but then again, this is Disney. They don't always do things that would logically make sense.

Oh yeh i forgot about that...........its just the UK only got a 1 disc edition, therefore i forget about the US having the 2 disc collectors edition.
I'll buy the US 2 disc edition on thursday! Finally then i'll get to see Brother Bear!

I don't think that the U.S. Disney has a Classics title for their DVDs like the UK does. We had the Gold Collection (blegh) and whatnot, though. It's always "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" or for the titles Walt was involved in--"Walt Disney's
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," for example.
The UK also lacks the Platinum Edition title (they just call them "Special Editions") that the U.S. has but I don't think that release types are terribly important (though it's almost funny when they just let release lines die out

) and apparently, neither does Disney.
