I guess this is very unusual. But 5 minutes ago I opened the tin to see the art work (can't watch the cartoons yet, cos I"m at work) and THE CRONOLOGICAL DONALD that I ordered has 2 CERTIFICATES OF AUTENTICITY, with 2 different numers... 28.768 and 28.769. I guess one will not have any at all.
I'll let you know what I think of the content soon!

Wow! That's horrible for whoever's doesn't have one (but I'm sure they can make Disney rectify it for them somehow). On the other hand, your's probably just shot up in value.

That is strange. But the same thing happened to me, only I got two certificates in the Tomorrowland tin.

I better take a closer look in mine. But it sounds like a quality control issue. So if that was happening, just how many did they produce?

Yeah, either somebody does not have the certificate in theirs or the whole idea of the certificates is just another big marketing scheme. I would be horrified if I opened my treasure up and it didnt have one in it.

Ok, mine are all clear... just one certificate in each.

That's a question I continue to ask, as some of the numbers really don't make sense. On the other hand, it could just be an insulated view of looking at these Treasures, as 150K+ is still a lot of copies.

Just looking for the forum consensus, and this can apply to any of the Wave 3 DVDs.

it's okay my Behind the Scenes at the Walt Disney Studio had two disc ones in it December before last. (one one top of the other.. only one disc ywo however!

You getting two certificates (and thereby two numbers) means that the rest of the print run is one number off! Horrible!

I'm beginning to think the idea of not stamping the tins is a marketing scheme. I figure that the time Disney held back the tins could be to simply churn out more copies than the official # they stated. Nobody's gonna figure out if their certificate had the same # as somebody else's. By eliminating the stamp on the tin, it's a lot easier to do this. Better stop, I think my insomnia is causing this waste of online space just so I can ramble on like this about Disney, etc. (Did any of that make sense?)

BTW, my copies only got 1 certificate.

If this continues to be problematic (which it seems to be), then the problem could be pretty wide-spread. Without MBs such as this, consumers won't be able to coordinate like this, though. And then there's all the tins that remain unopened for resale, so who knows how many double certificated there are.

Anyone heard of tins w/o certificates yet?

I think that maybe someone that this has happened to should press Disney for some answers!

As with any limited edition, there are collectors who will pay more for a "low number" tin, but now that they're sealed inside the DVD, is this market dead?

On the flip side, if you popped open a Disney Treasure with 1/XXXXX, would you sell it?

If a got the #1 of a set, I would definitely keep it with all my pride and glory. Sure it would sell for a pretty price, but a memory like that is irreplaceable.

As for your other question, I think many will still continue to sell the sets. Just because they aren't stamped, doesn't mean they still are collector's sets. I'm sure that if anything, dirty rotten scoundrels that buy them to make profit, will still be in the market; they might just lower their inventory.

Yeah, but I meant more that it's now impossible to get a low number COA in a sealed package, unless of course you're psychic.

Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, and it does give somewhat of a lottery aspect for these collectors.

I kind of like the anonymity of the numbers untill you open the Tin. Adds that extra element to this collectible, IMO.

I thought about that too... I don't think it hurts the market, just changes it. Instead of collector's searching for low-numbered tins, they'll just buy more, randomly, to find them. It kind of distributes marketability evenly b/w all Treasures sellers.

I like the suspense too, but I do wish I could put the # of the tin when I sell them. Oh well. If no one else can either, it shouldn't be too big a deal.

I think it would be just as cool to get 150,000/150,000. But anything is fine with me.
