All versions will be released on November 17, 2009 in R1 and November 2, 2009 in R2. In addition, the R2 versions feature an Audio Descriptive Track, but the two-disc DVD won't feature the "Aliens" featurette as that's Blu-Ray exclusive (but it's on the R1 two-disc).

Trailers were classified, but not mentioned in the Press Release. For now, I'm adding it to the Blu-Ray specs.

I'm a bit upset that there's more for the Blu-Ray, but not surprised.

All in all, it's 10 main featurettes and 20 branching pods, making it 30 featurettes altogether (not including the deleted scenes and gag reel), as the "section" titles were actually featurettes in some cases. While quantity really shouldn't outweigh quality, it's nice to know we're getting six more than originally thought. Also, I'm glad that Paramount is *not* taking a page from some other studios and making certain deleted scenes Blu-Ray exclusives (Disney, I'm looking at you). I generally don't care for deleted scenes (they're deleted for a reason), but for Star Trek, I'll always make an exception. :D

I am getting in line now!!! I want this so badly. Probably my most favorite movie of the year so far, as far as Action-Adventure goes.

Hope that they don't take advantage of the popularity of the franchise and have an outrageous retail price. If it is $22.99 or lower I will buy two copies, one for my PS3 in the Home Theater, and one for the upstairs Television room and my LG Network Blu-Ray player.

:D

And this is why I love having an October birthday: it's the month summer blockbusters start coming to home video, and the month when studios like to re-release big catalogue titles. This will be one of several titles I plan on buying with my inevitable Beat Buy gift cards. The bonus material line-up is very impressive, even if I admit that a cast commentary would've been amazing, too.

Thanks for the heads up, Scaps!

Fantastic. Along with UP it is one of the best 2 movies of the year. Looking forward to announcements of other Summer movies now: Angels & Demons, Wolverine, Night AT The Museum 2, UP, Terminator 4 etc... I DO love October-December. :D

I just can't wait to get my copy of this movie! I was never a fan of Star Trek but I just LOVED the movie. It was brilliant!

I think I might watch other Star Trek movies... any fans here who could tell me which one I should start with? I'm not familiar at all with Star Trek!

You can always start with the II/III/IV trilogy of Wrath of Khan, Search for Spock, and The Voyage Home. It presents enough backstory in Wrath of Khan for you to watch the three films without really having seen an episode of the series.

For more, check out UD/DVDizzy's Star Trek: Motion Picture Trilogy review by Kelvin Cedeno (Disneykid).

I loved this movie and will buy it regardless but I must say I loath the artwork. Yes, I'm one of THOSE artwork junkies.

Hehe. I don't care much for covers anymore, but have to agree, it is quite unappealing. Big Floating Heads never really "work".
