It's been 42 years since president John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, TX. 42 years ago this week. The date was Friday, November 22nd, 1963 at around 1:00 PM. President Lyndon B. Johnson took over Kennedy's place. That was what has happened 42 years ago this week.

It was also 42 years ago this week, Sunday, November 24th, 1963, Walt Disney's "Wonderful World of Color" was scheduled to air a 3-part episode of the 1960 theatrical release "Pollyanna" with Hayley Mills on NBC-TV (as shown on New York City's WNBC-TV Channel 4). The 3-part episode on WWOC was preempted due to the assassination of president John F. Kennedy. A week later on December 1st, 1963, Disney's "Wonderful World of Color" returned to NBC and aired the 3-part episode of "Pollyanna" following the Kennedy assassination. Has anybody remembered it happened on that date?

I was about to say "that's too bad"... But things wouldn't be the way they are now if it wasn't for his death. Wait a minute, maybe that's not such a good thing after all. That doesn't matter, no one can change the past.

I doubt anyone found a movie pre-emption worthy to remember 42 years later...

What about people who really, really wanted to watch Pollyanna that night?

Then they really need to rethink their priorities

Didn't you JUST say that useless little factoid in your second post in this thread?
