With over 10 GameStop stores here in Wichita, I have been able to find a lot of Disney stuff that I missed out on originally on DVD. And their prices are even cheaper than on-line.

I have found that on-line shopping helps me find out what is out there, and then I go looking. I NEVER buy anything on line. You don't save that much money, and you get to look at the product before you send away for it.

If you have GameStop stores in your city, check them out. Check your local Pawn Shops and Used DVD retailers. You will be surprised what a couple of hours in one those stores will bring you in the way of Disney 'finds'.

At one local GameStop here I found the "The Complete Pluto" Treasures in the tin box, previously-owned for $12.99 and "The Silly Symphonies" Treasures, out of the tin, but priced at just $9.99, and I didn't have to pay shipping because I got them right at the store.

I've scoured within 200 miles for many dvds..and there is nothing out there.

I called a store about 40 miles from me..they had snow white..but they had it at the same price. Now the only way I can check it out..would be to drive out there...and waste gas money.

Just wanted to warn you that it does say on there that :
"This is a preowned DVD. It is guaranteed to work on your DVD player and may not include original box."

A local store here had B&tB listed online, I went and it was the first disc only with no packaging. They do buy single discs and discs without the cases. That's why I've never ordered online from them- I'm afraid of what I'll get.

Goodluck though, I hope you get the complete set!

Well thats good if they except your return.

It might have been a bad deal..but I didnt see any other snow whites within 200 miles of me..and they had it online..thought I would grab it.

Just got my Snow white PE.

Near mint condition, as well the case.

Insert is missing.

I am satisified.

How rare is Snow White anyway?

Well yesterday we went to eat and then stopped at a local record store and they had a Treasures tin: "MM in B&W, Vol.2"

I got so excited I gladly paid the $32.99 (list price) for it. Then today on my front doorstep arrives another copy. It was flimsilly packed by Buy.com (i'd totally forgotten I'd ordered it from them. When I placed that order, I was really tired that night!) Now I have 2 copies of it and both tins in mint condition! (I could really use that MM in B&W Vol 1....)

So anyway, back to my story, there is a local chain record store in our area that I had not ever been in. I was hoping to find an old previous Wave Treasures tin. Turns out they did have Pluto and they had MM Club, but nothing really ancient, and I had just acquired those 2 titles, as they are not out of print.

So anyway, they also had a copy of the Platinum Edition Snow White and it looked in perfect condition (it says it is guaranteed) and they want like $35 for it but I was disappointed I did not find it new so I left it there. I am still holding out hope that I will find a brand new copy at some store here somewhere. Los Angeles is a big place with alot of stores so I think it is possible... I would be bummed to buy it used if I then found it new somewhere. For some reason the luster just isn't there if I have to buy it used. I don't know why. All my furniture is used (ok, vintage) and so are my 1950s appliances so why can't I get the same thrill out of a used DVD?

Is SW that rare and should I have purchased it? :?:

DisneyGuy has a new/sealed SW up for sale in the trade forum for $47 (pretty good price, IMO). He's an awesome seller- I bought a new/sealed PERFECT copy of Sleeping Beauty from him a while ago and was very happy with it.

I, however, would have picked up the "perfect copy" for $35. Before I started to buy used, I always thought "I have to have it new! I can't just give in and buy something SOMEONE ELSE has already watched!!"

But then I realized something... as soon as I open it... it's used! So if it's in great condition, and "used" why not pick it up?

I have bought a lot of used DVDs and have been very happy with them. It's all up to you though. If you don't think a SW that's been opened is worth the $35, then hold out! I just think your chance of finding a brand new one somewhere for a good price is kind of unlikely :(

Goodluck! :)

Yeah, its going to cost between 40-50 to get a new SW.

I paid 16.99 for SW used..and feel that it was a great buy..considering how good the condition was.

yeah, I don't know why I care about having it be brand new. The box was not beat up or frayed. But I now have this weird thing about not wanting to break the plastic shrink wrap even on the Disney tins, like I want to go get extras so that I will always have a new unopened copy - kind of strange! Disney Guys price is reasonable if it is new. I've seen it elsewhere for $75....

You're right though. I will ultimately open the package and then it won't be new anymore, so why am I going to pay the extra $$ to have the honor of breaking open the shrink wrap?! Then again, I am thinking I will just rent it at the store until the HD version comes out.

(Yeah, I probably should have bought it... :( )
