Kinda weird, depressing, funny, amazing!!

I just watched Hairspray (2007) for the 4th time! I have an obsession with that movie!

Open Season-It wasn't that bad...I loved the scene where they were trashing the conveinant mart! HA!

High School Musical II.

High School Musical 1 and 2. I recorded both on the same tape. It's kinda funny to me cause I can tell it starts the next day *laughs*

Then I watched Aeon Fleux and earlier I watched Rent. Very good choice of movie Meg.

For someone who used to make fun of all things <i>High School Musical</i>, I sure am obsessed! Call me hypocritical, call me wishy-washy, say what you must; I'm officially a fan!

Dottie, did you know that the model they used for the CGI of the T-Rex calls Wichita, Kansas home? We have a museum called The Museum of World Treasures here in Wichita, and the movie company borrowed our T-Rex about two years ago so they could build a CGI model of it for the movie "Night at the Museum". Last night we watched two very funny movies with the same stars. House Calls with Wallter Matthau and Glenda Jackson from 1978 with co-stars Richard Benjamin and Art Carney. Very funny movie.

Then we watched Hopscotch from 1980 and also starring Walter Matthau and Glenda Jackson.

The Lion King-I hadn't seen this for a while and this movie NEVER gets old! I cried when Mufassa died... =[

I watched "Forrest Gump" yesterday.

John Landis's Innocent Blood (1992) - A : still one of my favorite horror-comedies. This is a guaranteed good time! I could watch this twice, three times in a row- easy.


then, got my first Amazon.com order in. And I'll watch the highly regarded / recommended Wolfen later. But, I did watch...


Bones (2001) - B- : definitely a surprise. The story is okay, the characters interesting enough, the cast and acting are very good (including Snoop Dogg), and the movie is amazing stylish. Director Ernest Dickerson already scored big in horror with the genuinely scary Demon Knight (1995) and his cinematography on Def by Temptation (1990) was excellent. And here, he goes full-out gothic. The look is great. But ultimately, it mixes unevenly with the blaxploitation revenge plot. Then, CGI shlockens up the predictable scare sequences. The special effects (save for some amusing-looking severed heads and a great Hellraiser-rebirth sequence) don't fit here. Instead, they change the tone away from a moody High Plains Drifter (1973), to being a gooey Society (1989). But the director still gets big points for his great, electric applications of color, intelligent handling of the young actors, and smart use of music. Definitely worth seeing at least once.


Cat's Eye (1985) - B : with almost any horror/thriller movie, a PG-13 rating is kind of a warning sign. But if there's any decade where those sorts of movies really shined, it's the 1980's. So, I trusted Roger Ebert's 3-star rating and gave this one a chance. I'm glad I did. It's an anthology, psychological horror-thriller with 3 stories featuring a cat. A cat who is receiving strange orders from the ghost of Drew Barrymore to find... "it." Along the way, the cat gets mixed up in 3 stories. The first one, with James Woods trying to quit smoking... is fascinating, highly disturbing, and hugely funny all at the same time. This movie is worth seeing just for this 30 minute piece. The second one is incredibly suspenseful and has a real sick sense of humor too. But good luck not finding yourself in the shoes of the main character. It's amazingly effective. Another excellent story worth seeing the movie alone, for. The third part is a complete stinker. And if it weren't for that segment, the movie would have been perfect. Originally, my rating would be an A. But the 3rd part is cruddy enough to take the rating down a whole letter.

Wolfen (1981) - A- : It came so close to an A+, but it sort of invented logic as it went along. Came up with some very bogus things, plot-wise. And there were some just plain silly scenes where the movie worked best to be serious. And the music score was very irritating and old fashioned.


The Pacifier (2005, on TV) - C+ : Vin Diesel (horrible name, man- ouch!) in a Mr. Nanny / Kindgergarten Cop type part... The script is a turkey, the jokes are blah, the music score is loudly predictable (every scene followed a set cue to either "touching emotional moment" or "comedically militant drumroll"), the thing is cliche-city all around... but the production values are high and the performances keep it pretty entertaining, admittedly. Especially Vin, who seems more like an actor than a... wrestler? I forgot what he used to be.

Drop Dead Gorgeous-HILARIOUS!!!!!

The Rescuers-First time seeing this and let me say...it was ADORABLE! Miss Bianca is a runner up for my favorite animal charector!
