Of course it's not real. I made it up, just playing around. However, what made you say it isn't real? If I had not admitted that I made it up, who is to say it isn't real? Just curious.
The characters and background look to pale compared to the logo and so far no PE has re-used previous cover art

Yeah, but they've often reused parts of previous covers, so I won't be surprised if they just photoshop those pics around on a new background or something.
And had this actually been the cover art...my response would maybe be to cry or something.

Is it really that bad? I know it does not have the giant floating heads, but it still looks pretty good to me! They would sharpen up the colours etc etc, so i don't see what is so bad about this cover!
i presume they'll use the one on the website though. Those same kind of pictures.

Um, yeah, that's nice. Thanks.

Oh. There WILL be giant floating heads. Disney is all about the giant floating heads/torsos now, in case you haven't noticed. And it's not that that cover is bad, really, I like it, but it's already been used. Therefore, it'd be lame to reuse it exactly the same.

Jesus, it wasn't a dig at your photoshop skills which I'm sure are quite competent, it's saying I don't want the same cover art that was on the all the previous releases.

Look at Beauty and the Beast. They used the same cover as the original video release for the Platinum. Just tweaked it a bit. That was so dissapointing.

Okay, that's cool. No need to get upset. I just didn't know how to take what you said. At any rate, we're cool!

Maybe you never noticed, but they also redraw the characters. Only once did I see them use a part exactly as it was on the old cover, and that was the castle gate on the
Cinderella 2005 Platinum Edition cover, re-copied from the 1995 Masterpiece Collection cover.

Look at "Beauty and the Beast", it's like an exact replica of the VHS cover, save for the lack of Cogsworth and a background. Belle and the Beast have the exact same drawing. Lumiere and Mrs. Potts were flipped I think, but it's a total mirror image.

Yeah...you shouldn't take anything I say as an offense to you personally, it's usually just a gripe at things in general. Plus 80% of the words that come out of my mouth are sarcasm, which is near impossible to read in print anyhow. Glad we're cool

I swear I've seen that artwork before, maybe it might be on the VHS cover I've had for years (and I mean years!)

Buzz Lightyear, that picture of The Jungle Book was taken from the old VHS artwork cover. I think it's the Masterpiece Edition with the Black Diamond on the spine.

I just mentioned the BatB cover thing! And yes, I agree, it was almost entirely the same, just tweaked.

Oh, SpringHeelJack. I guess you didn't notice that they redrew and added details to it.
Atlanticaunderthesea is right, they tweaked it. But it's not an
exact replica. Belle's hair, especially the bun, and the gold ribbon in her hair are different, and her eyes are different (and way better-looking in the first cover). The Beast's eyes are different, too, as well as his teeth, his hair, and the blue bow.

Also. beast and belle are not holding hands on the PE cover art, and the background is dramatically changed.

yeah the holding hands gave it more magic to the cover IMO.
I wish they left that alone.

Actually, they do hold hands. The region 2-edition has a smaller picture of them on the spine (no Lumière, yay!), and you can see a bit more of the bottom of the image. They still hold hand, but their arms are lower than in the VHS-version.

I hate the background of the BatB cover. I wish they had kept the VHS background, it was so much prettier! But I guess I am glad we didn't have to suffer from big-headisist for that cover.

So I've been wondering about this Platinum lately. Do you guys think that Disney will release TJB in widescreen or fullscreen? (or, even better, both)? The trailer itself is obviously in fullscreen, but so were the trailers for films like The Little Mermaid. What has me curious is the fact that the trailer for Aristocats is obviously in WIDEscreen.
Also when do you think Disney will give us a press release? What about the coverart? I think the chances are REALLY good that the coverart will have Baloo and Mowgli in the poses they're in in the ad found on the Peter Pan set. (Which are exactly the same as the VHS release(s)). So I'm thinking the cover will just be a more fine-tuned, moved-around version of the VHS cover. I'd actually be OK with that beacause I'm fond of that coverart. I just wish Disney would pull some originality on us for once.
But I'm really anxious to start hearing from Disney about this release! I've been waiting for it for YEARS!
