Why was the video unlisted and why was it in workprint form with the timestamp and other watermarks? I don't think it was supposed to be officially released that way. Where on earth did you find it? PM me if you would rather tell me in private.

Very weird this video has leaked on the greek Disney Youtube channel !
I'm quite sure this is not authorized officially by Disney as it seems to be an early look at Frozen, maybe not for the audience but for the financials and marketing as it is dated in July of 2012 and I can tell that most of the concept-arts are old and the animation parts are not the final look of the film (Elsa is not rendered and this is her previous hairstyle + Anna's cape & hat have changed since and Kristoff's design is an old one...)...

By concept art being old, do you mean for the characters or the backgrounds? Would hate to see the art for the backgrounds go unused.

I wonder why they show the snowman in hand-drawn animation. Is this a new technique of Disney's to make a hand-drawn animated version of a character to see how they could potentially move in CG or something?

So, is this Frozen's version of the "RoughDraft Tangled Trailer"? I'm assuming this is another leak. Still, we all FIANLLY have sonething to talk & look at with Frozen instead of arguing about 2D animation's death at Disney.

It's common in the production of CG films to first produce pencil tests of the characters. Like you said, it's done so that they'll get a feeling of a character's movement and personality and make any necessary changes before starting CG animation.

Finally!! We can see something!! Well, even knowing this is probably not the final look of the characters and scenarios, it looks awesome!!
I guess we'll see the final version of this video like we saw the Tangled ones, during or after the summer.
EDIT: Ohhh... video blocked already... well, it was logical they would do that

Lnds500 posted the link.

Such kind words!
Yes, I assumed it was an early "leak". Disney Greece messed up. They uploaded it with the custom title. I assume they were meant to have it private/unlisted and then make it public when the time was right. They were also the first Disney to show the Pocahontas trailer.
The ridiculous thing is that Disney themselves blocked it for copyright infringement
Here's the video. Unlisted on my channel

Thanks for uploading that, Lnds500. I missed out the first time around.
That end animation with the magic, that looks like it could be really great.

I'd suggest you make the video private instead of unlisted. I'd hate for YouTube to delete your awesome account because of copyright violations. No doubt, a lot of fans, blogs and websites will find the link to your video here and post it elsewhere which will ultimately cause Disney to remove it. I don't think you should risk it.

Oh my gosh!!
The concept art is beautiful! Prince Kido, I know you said that some of it is old - I'm hoping that these palettes at least make it into the film? I was really underwhelmed the collection of environments in Tangled. Alone they could beautiful, but as a body of work they were visually very different. This preview makes the environments of Frozen look very consistent and ... well, pretty. I hope that's true.

I am considering it. Hopefully the news/stills etc will gain momentum and Disney won't have anything to gain by removing the content (if they manage to track the unlisted version on my channel).
I also expect a lot of other people putting it online very soon (rotoscopers already have it apparently)

I untagged the majority of the concept art in that video the best I could and did a tiny bit of color enhancement to the images. They're on my blog, linked in my signature.

Nice work, Patrick! Can you also do the bit with the CG animation?
