I think if that mermaid isnt Ariel, it could possibly be a more grown Melody.

Melody has a pink tail!!!

You can also definitely tell because she appears to have a purple shell top.

1. It is Ariel, because this mermaid has a green/blue fin. A purple shell top. And relly dark red/black looking hair, because she's silhoutted from the sun. Similar to the picture Gumby provided.

2. It's NOT Melody because, Melody has nothing to do with AB since she's no where near alive. And also Melody has a red fin and wears her hair in a pony tail.

3. It's NOT Queen Athena because this mermaid has the frame of a younger more active mermaid. And she bears no crown. And I don't think Athena would be jumping around the surface like that...

4. Perhaps it's not Ariel at all, but rather a random mermaid, that looks like Ariel, and Disney just put her there to cause a short little stir of confusion and debate on Ultimate Disney's The Little Mermaid III discussion part 2.

5. I think we all should just get over what mermaid that is until we all watch AB.

Ok, time to show everyone it's not Ariel.

First, look at gumby17's post, on the page right before this one. Notice anything different between the picture of Ariel out of the water from the first film, and the mermaid out of the water from this third film? How about the fact that Ariel isn't just darker in the first picture, but the whole picture, including the sky which causes her silhouette, is darker. While the sky is bright and blue in the second picture.

But more importantly, take a look at this:

There's obviously a brown haired, purple/blue shelled, purple/blue tailed mermaid! It makes very much sense for the shells to match the tail, like most of the mermaids except Ariel have. Well okay, this mystery mermaid kind of has blue/green fins.

But all these details match the mermaid that jumps above the surface EXACTLY. And look, that same mermaid is jumping out of the water in another scene, with other mermaids. In the bottom left picture, she's the mermaid on the left of Triton. It's before the merpeople feared/hated humans and were forbidden to go to the surface.

So it's not Ariel. And it still doesn't show Ariel will visit the surface in this film. Or at least, not as a teenager, after everyone was forbidden to visit the surface.

Guys, it's DEFINITELY Ariel 100%! It's pretty obvious! I know my favorite mermaid when I see her.

I'm just wondering where Eric will fit into all of this, cause after all, he is credited on the cast, right?

He is?? I don't see how he could fit in anywhere. If Eric is in this one. I'm geussing it will be the very begining or the very end. And no where in the middle.

Eric is voiced by Rob Paulsen according to numerous sites.

And he is in this storyboard (which I think will be the opening sequence sort of like mimicking the opening of the original):

The storyboard has a LOT in it:

1. It includes two new characters: Tor (the captain of the ship) and Magda (a sea-sick plump lady).

2. Ariel, Eric and Sebastian is searching for some white whale.

3. There's a parrot character (which I think is Tor's pet 'cause often the captain of a ship owns a pet parrot).

4. It seems that Ariel and Sebastian is angry with Eric.


But there is a possibility that this storyboard was not used 'cause it's rather old (It popped on the internet like 2 years ago). Maybe theappearance of Eric is scrapped and the characters Tor and Magda were cut. We just don't know yet 'til the movie comes out.

But Disney Duster,the mermaid you think has purple flipper and purple clams,this mermaid has green flipper and purple clams and besides-The water in that place seems too shallow to jump like that,seems like middle of the ocean.
Anyway I"m not sure it's Ariel but the picture that gumby 17 shows her hair a little red.

It's not her but whatever!

Well, I don't live in Germany, but I think it would be awful for them!

I like the promo cover Simple and sweet.

The US cover is one of the worst I've ever seen I can be very picky some times...

you know, a lot of people say "I could have done better in paint" this time i could beileve it...not that i like the US cover anyway.
