Is the Celebrating Dumbo feature on UK discs?

I know it's on the German and Mexican ones but a reviewer on dvdbeaver claims it's missing. However it could be titled 'Audio Commentary' and the idiot skipped looking at it under Backstage Disney.

Hey, I know this is old but a recent review via dvdbeaver shows that the 'Celebrating Dumbo' feature is not there on the UK disc.

However seeing as you have seen it, where exactly is it?

Is it mistitled audio commentary under Backstage Disney or is it somewhere else?

For that matter, where is the audio commentary located anyway?

I'm not forgetting that this film is very great indeed (no pun intented) — it's one of my favourites. I actually saw a film print of this last fall at a screening of it at UCLA and i also saw the new HD remaster at the 2 week screening on the christie cp 2000 DLP projector at El cap back in Jan and i dont remember anything looking off in terms of the framing or any issues at all in the presentation.

and this sort of thing would jump out at me as i used to be a union projectionist, a couple of things you have said in your posts have been wrong by the way, when you talk about theatre masking and aspect ratios.
i really think your getting all worked up for nothing.

Well, you could refute my claims simply by showing us film frames from a 35 mm theatrical print of Dumbo. Is it easy, by the way, to take hold of a theatrical print, scan frames from it, and make them public?

At least the Scandinavian Blu-ray does have it. (Runtime: 14'53".) It's under the "Backstage Disney" sub-menu. The Scandinavian DVD, on the other hand, does not contain this.

I'm pretty sure it's on the U.K. Blu-ray as well.

The menu screenshots at the bottom come from the DVD, not from the Blu-ray. The DVD does not contain the "Celebrating Dumbo" featurette.

My DVD menus look exactly similar.

Look for the featurette on the Blu-ray instead.

If you compare the screenshots from the movie, you'll notice that the Blu-ray has a slightly wider framing than the DVD (but, in my notorious opinion, not wide enough).

These 'reviewers' are starting to piss me off with all their inaccurate information.

My Dumbo DVD (from the combo set) has the same feature, Celebrating Dumbo, as on the blu-ray...

I'm bumping this topic. Has anyone heard anything lately? We have the announcements for the US releases of Alice in Wonderland and Bambi now. Do you think Dumbo could finally be getting it's US release in April or May of 2011?

Just watched D23's Disney Geek on Youtube

Two viewers ask the guy if he can provide any details on when they will see
Dumbo on Bluray
And quite abruptly he answers "No, I can't" moving on to talk about the releases we know of: Alice in February and Bambi in March

So I guess the US will have to wait...I have a hunch that they are waiting to release it in 3D...this is just me speculating, though...

Trailer is on this week's Playhouse Disney DVDs. First time in a while it's shown up.

For those that have imported Dumbo, which version is the best to order to play on a Region A US player? Are any of the versions region free, etc...?

Every version seems to be locked, so the Brazilian version seems to be the best version for you.

Actually, from all Mexico and South America, is region A and dvd is region 4 and 1 as well

You can also consider the Region A Hong Kong Blu-ray. The front cover's completely in English (as you can see from my pic) and, unless you count some tiny Chinese words at the bottom, so is the back cover. For what it's worth, Wikipedia's entry on Dumbo has the USA Region 1/A Blu-ray/DVD combo release date listed as February 2011.

I know we can't rely on Wikipedia, but has anyone else seen anything yet on a release date, besides that it is coming in 2011?
