As in the Q&A she stressed that 'Frozen' will look unlike any other Disney animated feature, as they are utilizing new techniques developed by the studio.

I'm very sceptical about that. WDAS/Pixar make claims like that all the time about their upcoming films but in the end their films end up looking as generic as any other CG film out there. They almost never live up to their own hype.

Woah woah woah woah. Wait a second. Is that implying that Frozen will use the hybrid technique?? That can't be right.

I don't think so. Apparently, the studio is working on other new techniques outside the hybrid one. I bet it's something that has to do with the depiction of snow and ice.

Regarding Frozen I have only 1 question:

Is it June yet

If we have to spend the 3 following months just waiting for it with nothing, not an official new, picture, tiny teaser or web site, we all will turn INSANE

Looks like Elsa/Anna's home!

That's very, very old from around ten years ago before the story was shelved and then picked back up again. It's likely that Frozen will have nothing like that.

Everything that has the WDFA logo on it is at least 7 years old. This is indeed likely around 11 to 12 years old.

Judging from the style, it looks like it was drawn by Brittney Lee but I can't be sure.

That definitely is the HEAD of Elsa from the concept art that we had back in September! I wish I could release the art we have, but don't want to get our friend in trouble. But yes, that is the ART! WOO!

Is it indeed drawn by Brittney Lee? I was only speculating judging by the style but I'd be nice to know for sure.

If I didn't know better I'd say that was the ballroom from beauty and the beast.

Sotiris, yes I can confirm that this concept-art of Elsa is from great talented Brittney Lee who did a lot on Frozen. ^^

Yes, this one is also by Brittney.
Her art is gorgeous and she did a lot of concept-arts on the characters, especially Elsa, but I can't share them sadly, due to professional confidentiality .
Wait 'til you'll get to see more of her stuff, probably in the art book I guess...

Tangled did look very different, both animation-wise and it was the first movie to utilise CG hair the way they did.

Tangled looked better, not different. Yes it made leaps and bounds in technology, but at the end of the day it's still all the same concepts we've seen in every CG animated movie. Not that that's a bad thing - Tangled looks fantastic imo. But Sotiris is right when he says that so far, the CG haven't visually lived up to the hype. In The Art of Bolt, they mention how advances in technology allowed the final film to look like a moving painting. It's like... What?? No it doesn't.

No, the film will not be set in any real geographical place. Norway simply served as inspiration. Personally, I find the use of yet another generic European setting annoying. Since the setting was inspired by Norway, it should have been explicitly set there. You can still have a fictional kingdom in a real country.

As for the German character Jeffrey Marcus will be voicing, could it be Hans? Perhaps some other secondary character? Who knows?

Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with Tangled. While the human characters looked better than the average CG film, the overall visual look was very conventional. It was certainly nowhere near as unique or risky as Glen Keane's original vision.

Sounds like there was a screening. Very curious about what the opening will be.

Anyway, just watched Tangled and was amazed by how well the animation holds up. It's beautiful and it makes me excited about the leap they will take technology wise for Frozen.
