Avril Lavigne's another blast from the past. Her popularity kind of burnt out 5 years ago or so.

Oh, I know. I'm not talking about what's popular right now, but what was popular back when Lilo and Stitch was in production/first came out, I even looked at some 2002 lists to refresh my memory. I also remember Mandy Moore had hits with "Candy" and "In My Pocket" as well, or at least they were all over the radio in the early 2000's.

I didn't mean that the music was hip and cool. I meant that the overall feel of the film (including the trailers for the film, etc) made the film come off as trying too hard to be hip and cool to me.

I always thought that the whole Elvis Presley thing was included not to be hip and edgy, but to accentuate how eccentric Lilo was. For goodness sake, she swam out in the ocean once a week to feed "Pudge the Fish" a peanut butter sandwich because "Pudge controls the weather." Then there was her whole thing about taking pictures of fat people with farmer tans and posting them all over her wall.

Really what 7 year old (I don't remember how old Lilo was supposed to be) would be an Elvis Presley fan, let alone be even remotely aware of who he was?

I always assumed her parents had been Elvis fans although it had been left unexplained. It would make sense for Lilo to want to feel some kind of connection with her parents through his music, especially if they had ever listened to that record player together.

However, I still am unsure about The Secret Lab. It wasn't the same kind of thing as Walt Disney Animation France, one telling thing being the name.

Now, we do get that this is what Disney officially is saying is the 50 DAC's.

But that doesn't mean we don't think some shouldn't be there, not because of our own personal opinions of which ones are good or we like, but because some are, say, only package features, not real features, or some were Disney trying to be like other studios, follow other movie trends that aren't their own or being set by themselves, or be un-Disney.

I'm so happy they showed Basil for The Great Mouse Detective clip, and a really good one of him, too! But, yes, I also agree at the confusion to showing minor characters in some of those clips. Though, when I looked at the length of the video, I figured it would be one extremely random scene per movie.
