I'll never call it by that awful name.

Of course, if I don't like the movie, I will never buy it.

I believe that they have until either the release of, "Toy Story 3," or by September (the beginning of Fall) to change their mind. Here is a tip for you: put your faith not only on God and Jesus or other religious faiths, but mostly to Walt Disney as well. I believe that he himself disagrees on the title change.
Erm, I have to admit that I'm not that desperate for the title to be changed back. Sure, I have said that I don't like the current title (for reasons I've already stated and that I think most people will agree with in this particular case: mis-marketing, making it seem like a Hoodwinked-style film), but resorting to religious/supernatural powers seems to be going a bit too far, I have to say. I'm a Disney fan, that's for sure, but praying for a film studio seems too extreme. :shifty:

Well, this thread took a wrong turn. The religious stuff is really uncalled for.

I wonder why National Treasure 3 wasn't mentioned. I'm pretty sure a third one was already greenlighted. Not that I care though.

Dang. Last week Pope Benedict was in Malta (I saw him go by in the popemobile). I should have yelled at him to pray for the change of Tangled's name.

Sigh. Maybe his next encyclical letter will be an in depth study of WDAS and Rich Ross' love of Tootsie.

Have you forgotten about what I said about only fairy tales bear the name, not the stories that are not fairy tales? True that names have few changes, but they are actually either extended, diminished, or arranged to impress the audience.
You're still missing my point.

You claimed that Walt never changed names for stories (fairy tales or not), and I gave examples from Walt's lifetime of movies whose titles are different from the original source material. All the examples I gave are titles that are different from their original source material. It doesn't matter if it's extended, diminished, arranged, etc. The titles are different, even if they contain similar words. And it certainly doesn't matter if the story is based on a fairy tale or not. Your claim that Walt would never change the title of a story is FALSE.

Unless I'm not reading English correctly (and by golly, I should be since I've spoken it for 25 years), "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is still a different title from "Snow White", regardless if both are the same story and both contain "Snow White" in the title. Cinderella and The Slipper and the Rose are the same story with different titles. Beauty and the Beast and Beastly are the same story with different titles. Emma and Clueless are the same story with different titles.

I won't pre-judge a movie based on its title, and likewise, I won't pre-judge a title without seeing the movie.

You know what, I don't care what you say about me missing the point. Title change or not, it stills bears the name even though names have been changed. However, only two Disney movies did not bear the name after the title change, they are, "The Great Mouse Detective," and, "Tangled." That is all, bye bye, see you later.

The lack of a WDAS film slated for 2012 could be the reason Pixar is releasing two films in the same year (Brave & Monsters 2)

Also, the untitled project of Clements-Musker is not certain that will actually happen. They said in many interviews they were in the process of pitching Lassetter a few ideas. Whether a project has been greenlighted or not, has yet to be confirmed.

There is also a rumor of a CGI movie by Chris Williams.

Currently, only Joe Jump has been confirmed (by trustworthy insiders, not officially by Disney of course) that is currently being worked on after Winnie the Pooh.

I noticed National Treasure 3 is not in the timeline, but today I found this little bit off info on mania.com:
The New York Magazine gossip blog Vulture reports that Sony is in a race against time on its 'Ghost Rider' sequel and may rush it into production without leading man Nicolas Cage.

While Cage wants to do the movie, he may not be available before the deadline. He's tied up in the 'National Treasure' series which is ramping up for a third go-round.
http://www.mania.com/more-iron-man-2-bu ... 22161.html

So when are they planning to release National Treasure 3? 2011? '12? '13? I want to know what's on page 47! :D

Me too! I love the series, and think Cage is great and that the second lived up to the first. I hope the third is just as great, and hope they release more details soon.

I have been reading about Fraidy Cat being a possible project that Ron & John repitched. Would be the BEST news ever! Sounds like a lovely project and the artwork we saw for that is brilliant.

I've also heard that many of the GREAT 2D animators ar working on Winnie The Pooh. Glen Keane will be supervising Christopher Robinson once he's done with Rapunzel with Andreas Deja doing tiger and Mark Henn doing Winnie, Kanga and Roo, etc...

Also Ramayana's artwork has been popping up again, as well as "The Nightingale" which also had some awesome artwork made for it years ago. All set in india which looks beautiful on screen...

Could Disney's, "The Nightingale," be Disney's next animated movie? It looks amazing. They should post it on Wikipedia (forgive me, I could not help myself on using that site for reading information, at least it shows the sources at the bottom of the site to reveal where the sources was collected).
