Both "Up" and "The Princess and the Frog" deserve the nomination and I hope one of them wins.

Well, "Kung Fu Panda" is a good movie, as good as "Wall-E", but less preachy.

WHAT?! This is so unfair! No one even cares how hard Disney worked on its latest hand-drawn movie! :(

You know, sometimes, I wish Pixar NEVER became a branch of Disney! That's the only reason Pixar's movies have won lately! :x

Pixar being a branch of Disney has nothing to do with it. They were winning before Disney even came to them.

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know THAT! Apparently, Pixar seems to have an unfair advantage lately, AND it's THEIR fault that hand-drawn animation rarely exists anymore, now that we have people trying to clone Pixar with CGI movies! :x

Let it out, man. Pixar never TRIED to do anything but make good movies. Now, just let it all out.

Pixar addressed this issue in "The Pixar Story".

So Up didn't get Best Original Screenplay and TPatF didn't get Best Original Song!? Well, what the heck got it, then? My god... there's no accounting for taste in the Academy this year.... :x

Honestly, I have nothing against Pixar. I love their movies as much as the next guy. I'm just a little peeved that their movies keep winning year after year, ever since Ratatouille won it back in 2008. And to be honest, I kind of felt TPatF was a little more deserving of Best Animated Feature, and UP of Best Picture. :(

While I'm happy that Up won Best Animated, I agree with you on that one. While I feel that Up was technically the better film, and arguably the best film of the year, animated or not.... the fact that TPatF was the first 2D film with a classic vibe in sooo long makes me feel like it really should have reawoken the sleeping medium, and make it worthy of the best animated award.

Apparently, best original song went to: 'The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart)' from 'Crazy Heart'

And original screenplay was won by Hurt Locker.

I swear, if Avatar slams UP by winning the Best Picture Oscar, I'll be madder than a nest of hornets. And this is coming from a guy who LIKED Avatar, but views UP as more deserving.

Up will just never win Best Picture. Never.

Me, yeah, preferably TPATF would have won, but that's only on personal taste, preferences, brand loyalty, three years worth of anticipation... But I very much liked Up and I'm very glad it won Best Animated Feature. At least we kept it in the company. :P

UP Best Original Score :D

Although I preferred Princess and the Frog more than Up and would have loved to see PatF win, Up does deserve it. I didn't like Up very much but I can admit that it is very well-made movie. It has everything that should be in a movie. Saying that there is no way that Up will best picture. I think it was only nominated because of the ten nominations (just look at other award shows).

I also knew Weary Kind was going to win for best original song. Most of said that its music was weaker then most Disney movies, so I don't see why anyone should be surprised by it. (BTW I LOVE PatF)

Anyways good for Up for winning best Original Score. GOOD JOB!

Perfect! I just knew it! It was one of the only films I've ever seen where the score was one of the first things I noticed.... I loved the repetition, especially the two main themes representing Ellie and Muntz.... :D
