Spider-Man 3 was a great kick-off to summer movie season '07? To each his own, I suppose.... I thought the first great film that summer was Pirates 3. Compared to last year, and so far the prospects of this year, summer '07 was kinda weak. The only great movies in my opinion were Pirates, Live Free or Die Hard, Transformers, Bourne Ultimatim and Superbad.
Anyways, back on topic. I enjoyed this movie. I went in with fairly moderate expectations (and who wouldn't after the massive dissapointment that was X3?), and was entertained throughout. It drags a little in between Gambit's intro and the finale, but overall it's a fun popcorn film that fans and non-fans alike should have a good time viewing. That said, if you are the type of moviegoer on a limited budget, I cannot in good conscience recommend you see this film. Star Trek is such a surprisingly awesome movie that if you don't see it on the big screen, you're really depriving yourself of a great experience. But, if you're capable of seeing both, you can spare your dollars and see both. Wolverine gets a B-.
Cheers,
JM

I on the other hand abhor X3, even though I've never read a single X-Men comic book in my life.

Okay I got an orginal Idea to settle this....how about each of us who saw the movie describe which ending they saw
There were 1 in the middle of the Credits.....
An Army car comes up and we find Col. Stryker still walking with his toes bleeding and the army guy said are you Col. William Stryker he said "yeah" like he was just woke up from a trance and then the army soldier said your wanted for questioning involving the murder of (the admiral stryker killed when the older admiral said he was going to shut down the place
And the scene at the end of the credits for me was
We come into Logan drinking at some fancy bar possibly in cuba becuase the foreign bartender lady was speaking in another language and she asked are you and american and logan responds in english "canadian - I think" Then the lady said are you drinking to forget and Logan responds to her in english "no im drinking to try to remember

I saw the one with Deadpool's hand retracting a blade, then crawling towards his head, then he opens his mouth and says "Ssshhhh".

I saw the same one that xxhplinkxx saw.
Overall, I was disappointed with the film and would not try to go again to get a different clip at the end of the credits. This should be an obvious inclusion as a bonus feature on Blu-Ray and DVD, though, possibly a fun easter egg.

Alright, I saw it last night as well.
I have never seen any other X-Men movie... but I have to say, I was really entertained by this one and thought it was pretty good. But that may only be because I didn't notice any of the "plot holes" my friend did regarding some stuff they changed that would now cause continuity errors in X2.
I saw that second after-credits ending with Deadpool... but I did get to see the other one, because that's the one on the leaked version. Plus, the theater I saw it at literally had one showing each half hour (there are 30 screens total in the building)... I could have easily just walked over to the next one and snuck in if I wanted to see it that badly.
I have talked with officials at Twentieth Century Fox Motion Piotures who assured me that everyone will see the same ending and 'tag' in the United States. When the DVD is released it will have all three of the alternate endings included.
You know a FOX official?! Or you just mean someone from the customer "support" line?
And third ending? Has anyone seen this? I only know of two.
A couple things that never made sense to me though.
1. If Wolverine has these spiffy new metal claws, where the heck are they stored? They retract back into his hand... but yet he can still move his wrists as if there wasn't 12 inches of metal sticking back there?
2. Which one is Storm in the movie? The only female character I remember is the one who can turn rock-hard or whatever...
3. How come you see several of the mutants "die" but then they end up alive and well at the end?
But as a whole, though, I still liked it. Not sure which music works better - the original score or the one from Transformers. I wish they release the workprint on the DVD... it would be a cool extra, and by now everyone who wants to see it has seen it

Storm wasn't in this movie, and which mutants did you see die and reappear?

As he said, Storm isn't in this one.
And to answer your first question, Wolverine's claws, when retracted, rest in his forearms, so nothing interferes with his wrists.

Um... Cyclops was one of them... you can see him "die" and then he's there at the end, one of the mutants whose power was stolen for Deadpool.
As he said, Storm isn't in this one.
Oh... well how come someone mentioned Storm being in the trailer as a kid then? I don't know any of their names (besides the ones said in the movie) so I wasn't really sure who's who...

Oh... well that would make sense, it just seems like since they're curved, they still wouldn't fit in his forearms without jutting out or making him look different than your run-of-the-mill human... Yes I know it's sci-fi and I'm probably just trying to over-clarify... I just hate when there's sci-fi stuff that can't really be explained at all...

As I once told my cousin when she couldn't figure out how something worked in a movie: "It's the magic stupid"

Um... I don't know what movie you were watching, but Cyclops never "died".
And there WAS a clip of young Storm in the trailer, but it was cut from the final version. Why are people having such a difficult time understanding that??

Cyclops never died. When he was shot in the school hallway, he was just tranquilized. When Stryker wants someone dead, he sends Victor/Sabretooth after them, hence why we see John Wraith and Chris Bradley/Bolt stabbed. When you see X2, you'll see Stryker's men use these same bullets/darts/whatever a lot more.
drfsupercenter wrote:Oh... well how come someone mentioned Storm being in the trailer as a kid then?
Because she IS in the trailer...
...but her scene(s) got cut. It looks like she would've appeared during the scene in Africa when Stryker and his team look for the adamantium rock. I'm not sure exactly why they cut her. She looks about seven in the trailer shot, and the Africa scene takes place 6 years before the rest of the film, and the main trilogy takes place 15 years after that. So if she's seven in the first third of the film and 13 during the other two-thirds, that'd make Halle Berry's version of her about 28. That doesn't seem so off to me, so it can't be because of film continuity.

OK sorry... somehow I just saw him get shot and assumed they killed him.
I mean, I can pay attention in movies but I remember some details better than others. And tranquilizer darts is not one I remember.
As far as Storm goes... that's interesting... see I wouldn't have flagged anything special about a little black girl, but only because I have no idea who Storm is. Thanks for the info though, that clarifies it... I thought I was losing my memory or something!

How do you not know who Storm is?! Have you been living under a rock your entire life?!
Dear god, the more I see and hear in this world, the less I wanna live in it.
