Yeah, it's just an ad that they think would be a good cover. You can see where it says "Coming to Video" at the bottom with a picture of the 1997 release cover.

What he means is that he hopes that Disney will make cover art LIKE that, with the film's title printed in place of "celebrate the 30th anniversary of..."
**By the way, that was an advertisement for the films re-release on VHS in 1997, if I remember correctly (I could be wrong)**
Oh ok, I gotcha!! Sorry for the confusion.

I just watched "The Little Mermaid" Platinum Edition tonight for the first time since the release in early October. It was so great to watch it again, and watching over the bonus material, it got me really excited to see what we are in store for on "The Jungle Book" Platinum Edition in October. I am really excited because I think they will probably a Disney Pedia segment, which is one of my favorite features on the Platinum Editions. I was just wondering, what are you UD members hoping for or predicting in terms of bonus features for The Jungle Book?

Im hoping for an awesome cover art first of all. Then it NEEDS trailers, a segment about zerox process(jungle book had this right) of course a 40+ minute making of the barenecessities: the making of jungle book. LOL! and thats it.

Is the xerox process known as xerography? Or am I mistaken? If it is, the first Disney film to use this technique was "101 Dalmatians" so I think it would probably show up on that DVD.

The bonus features for The Jungle Book Platinum Edition I'm hoping for is deleted/alternate scenes, a cartoon short, a making-of, and theatrical trailers.

Well, this would probably be found on the "One Hundred and One Dalmatians" Platinum Edition (March 2008) since it was the first film to actually use the zerox process. Of course there is always hope for a featurette to be on "The Jungle Book" Platinum Edition.

Something about it being Walt's last animated film (with Aristocats, depending on how you see it) would be interesting also! I'm hoping for a bit about Kipling also, rather like the Hans Christian Andersen piece on TLM.

I hope we will see something about Disney's death on there as well.

Yeah, that might make an interesting featurette.
Anyone found Jungle Book Cover Art Yet?

I got my copy of Peter Pan today

and was sort of hoping to find preview cover art for Jungle Book and *maybe 101 Dalmatians but all there was in the inserts was a half page title ad for Jungle Book. Any hint as to the next cover art? We usually get an idea well before a preceding release.

Nope, no sign over cover at yet, unfortunately. It is still pretty early though, remember there is a lot less time between the fall and spring release (5 months) than there is between the spring and fall release (7 months). We will probably still have to wait a few months. However, UD is top notch when it comes to Disney news so you can bet as soon as some surfaces, UD will post it. However, my guess is the film title will look similar to what is on the website and in the booklet with the bamboo border and the green background inside. I am so excited to see the cover art, I hope it is great.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got a cover with the graphic of Mowgli and Baloo dancing from the advert inside the PP PE.

that would be ugly cover art if it was them dancing like the picture on the insert I think...but I am excited to see it!!

I like the insert, it's not too flashy or broad looking, Mowlgi/Baloo look very much on model. This could possibly be a rough sketch of the cover, so I'm hoping this insert's gon'na be the cover art. One thing that kinda throws me off is the "40th" written in the film's logo, I didn't mind it said, "Jungle Book 40th" but having the "40th" in the logo instead of the speical edition banner, really throws me off.
Write back please

Isn't that cover just like the old UK video release? Or am I imagining things?

Of course it's not real. I made it up, just playing around. However, what made you say it isn't real? If I had not admitted that I made it up, who is to say it isn't real? Just curious.
