Wow! I've forgot about that one! It's been years since I've even thought about "A Few Good Ghosts," aka "My Peoples" aka "Once in a Blue Moon," aka "Angel and her No Good Sister."
The idea of a bunch of living ragdoll toys was considered too similar to Toy Story, and the mixture of CG and traditional animation was said to look downright "terrible." With that said, I was so disappointed when Disney shelved it.

From a not-exactly fresh interview with director of new West Side Story revival, Arthur Laurents, where he discusses an animated film pitch he received from Disney to make the musical an animated film-
Disney wanted to do an animated version — with cats! They sent a DVD. The black cats and the white cats. It was pure camp. They showed the Maria cat coming down the rope of an ocean liner. She was an illegal immigrant.

Since the pitch came to him via a DVD, that means it had to have been made within the last ten years. Interesting, I always wondered about what Disney could do by turning a B'way musical into an animated film. I know they planned on turning Pygmalion into a musical (
again), and speaking of other companies, Don Bluth almost animated My Fair Lady instead of Anastasia, and WB turned The King and I into a bad animated film.

Also, Spielberg and Amblination were in discussions with Andrew Lloyd Webber about the idea of turning Cats into an animated musical (this is around the time of Fievel Goes West/We're Back A Dinosaur's Story).

That would've been interesting from an animation perspective.
But the musical numbers...not so much.

Once I read the bold, it's not happening. Plus some reason this reminds me of mental image of Cats meets Cats Don't Dance.
