I'm new around here and I'd like to say hello to everyone!
First of all I want you to forgive me for my english, but I am from Portugal in Europe and my language is portuguese, so sometimes I may write/say something wrong!
Getting to the point: the cover art is not amazing but as far as I am concerned, it is quite fine!
Here in Portugal the DVD's releases are different from the USA one's, so I am worried that "Lady and the Tramp" will receive a one disc edition here in Portugal, since that it happened with "Snow White", "Beauty and the Beast" and "Alice in Wonderland".
As long as our edition has two discs, I don't really care about the cover!

Well chances are if all of our American 2 disk Platinum Edition's are 1 disk where you live it will probably be that way with Lady & the Tramp. Maybe once you learn more English you could by an English DVD and a region free player.
Your English is great! Sound like a regular English lad. lol

Considering we haven't even gotten the press release yet, I'd say no. We'll probably have one next February.

So is this the final cover, or will they change it? (Just like they did with toy story)

I think that the bottom banner will be removed to match the other PE's, but other than that, it will probably stay the same.

Some of the Platinum Edition's here in Portugal received 2 discs, such as: The Lion King, Aladdin and Bambi.
We also received 2 discs special editions such as: Mulan and Tarzan.
That´s why I'm hoping we'll receive 2 discs Platinum Editions of Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp...
But I'd like to buy the region 1 Pocahontas 10th aniv. edition and Sleeping Beauty Special Edition, that weren't released here in my country. About the english, that wouldn't be a problem, since my real problem is to write/speak in english... Reading and listening I understand quite fine!

Well maybe Disney has changed and is releasing Platinums in your country because the last three you named were the more recent ones.

Other than fonts and sentencing it seems to be final. Toy Story was a bold step towards a collector crowd. I guess Disney was too coward to go foward with it.

I like the Limited Issue's Font more than the Platinum Edition's one!
Hope they'll change it!

Umm...Cinderella is being release in October not in March or February.
Only Disney Platinum releases in October gets a gift set.
Ummm... traditionally yes but I have never seen anything official saying that is what they only do. Disney is not overly predictable and they change things so often like their DVD releases banners (Masterpiece Edition for example) so who knows they could change it up.
Personally I think it's really a bad idea not to do collector's sets for spring editions. These movies are what many collector's want... Bambi, Lady and the Tramp... the classics that were made during Walt Disney's time.

I'm actually quite pleased. I've learned to adjust my expectations when it comes to Platinum covers. Disney has squeezed in so many characters, yet managed to achieve a semi-classy look. Can't ask for much more than that...

Sorry for being so rude but I know that Bambi and LATT are great and they deserve giftboxes too.

I like the colors in the artwork. I thought it was going to come out in October of 2006 or 2007. I might buy this DVD set in Febuary.

I was sort of being rude too MMP, sorry. I've been super grumpy lately.
All PE releases deserve giftsets... actually almost all of the Disney classics deserve an ultimate collector's edition.

(but hey I may be one of the only ones who would buy those)

by so it goes
I like the design for the Platinum Edition, although I do like the Limited Issue cover as well. I liked how they had Lady and Tramp alone on the front and everyone (who is a dog, that is) on the back. Either way I don't really have a preference between the two. I'm sure it could have been better, but I really have no problem with it.
Slightly off-topic: When I first read about this release in Home Media Retailing (I work in a video store where we get it) it didn't mention it was the Platinum Edition, just a 2 disc coming out in February. So I got a little mad thinking they were severely double dipping releasing it in a new set when it was planned for the Platinum line. For whatever reason I was thinking Little Mermaid was next. It wasn't until the next day when I realized February comes before October, is going to be 2006 and that it was the Platinum Edition. I have no idea why I thought such and didn't get it, my only excuse could be that I just assumed they would be out In March and October. oops.

I have to say that I LOVE the cover art for Lady and the Tramp! It fits nicely with the other Platinum Editions, and gives a look at many of the great characters in this film! I can't wait for this to be released!

I really like the cover as well. It was time for an alternative version, even if the idea is the same...
