Stop being so dramatic. I didn't say I was glad he died, did I? Not everything is always black or white, and just becuase I'm not sorry he died doesn't mean I'm glad. What's wrong with you?
awallaceunc wrote:What do you mean by affiliation though? They aren't actually affiliated in any way.
There you go, than you have no reason to snap at me.
awallaceunc wrote:You can take issue all you want, but do so respectfully. Stating that his death isn't a tragedy is hardly kind to those who take it as such.
Um, that's not what I said. I have every goddamn right to not consider his death a tragedy personally. I didn't say it wasn't a tragedy for those creepy people who act like they knew him so well. Those people aren't me, and I clearly stated that I won't consider it a tragedy.
awallaceunc wrote:Yes she did. Of course at the time there wasn't really a majority to be had... just CNN.
Well, I remember watching the news closely in the days before she died, including CNN, and I didn't see over three dozen different programs about her being near death. In fact, I don't even remember seeing one. I'll give it to you that it might have been I wasn't watching the right channels, but I was watching a lot of news that day.
awallaceunc wrote:More of the same doesn't bode well for a new member who seems to only seek offense for the sake of shock value on a rather peaceful board. Go insigate elsewhere.
Hey, the world is shocking. Go insult someone else's intelligence! And don't you dare accuse me of coming here only to start a fight. I've been nothing but intelligent- in fact, who in the living hell do you think you are? I don't need to defend myself to someone like you, someone who refuses to see the issue for what it is, and took a lot of my words as my speaking for everyone when I mostly spoke on behalf of myself.

If you still have a problem, don't bother replying.

You certainly have the [insert megaoffensive profanity of your choice here] right, but that doesn't mean you should come here and post it so carelessly.

I saw lots of media coverage, you didn't. Fair enough. No sense beating a dead horse.

As shocking as the world may be, this board isn't the place for inciting uproar. It's a friendly discussion board, and though serious issues like politics and religion are sometimes debated, they are kept to a friendly and respectful level or not allowed. It is not a soap box for exercising whatever free speech whim you feel that day or for turning a commemorative thread into a hateful one.

It doesn't matter who you are speaking on behalf of, as long as you're "speaking" on this board.

Will I understand PJP 3 if I haven't seen the first two?

I hate coming into a sequel not knowing the backstory...

I found it interesting that a whole supplement was given to one 75 year old man who died in our newspaper today, but 9 Australian air force members died on a humanitarian mission to Indonesia and they didn't warrant more than a page.

hello...
The Pope was suffering,they don´t
the Pope was known for all the world
The pope not only make one type of humanitary action, they did
the pope was loved for many many people on this huge world, they don´t
people die every day, a pope don´t

I just want to ask you, are you jealous or why do you still--"hey,I found all this about the pope but no thing about this little-person who only was knew on his home..."?

So if I understand all that correctly, you are saying the pope's life was worth MORE than these other people? NINE young people, cut down in their prime as opposed to one old man who had already served his duty for the better part of his life?

That's a very christian value!

Danger!Danger!
Sarcasn-o-meter exploted!!

As Catholic--no christian, they don´t belive on the holy Mary-- no,it´s isn´t a value. But as a news reporter who seek raiting, what would you explote? 9 practiclly-unknown guys or a well-knon and for-all loved personality?

And please, look for the achievings of John Paul II(RIP) and compare them with the ones of those guys

I think that Pope John Paul II was a great man and did many great things. But Im relieved to know he is now resting in peace without having to go threw so much pain as he did everyday.

Good luck to the the next Pope!

Does this mean you are saying your not Christian, but Catholic, becuase Christians dont believe in Mary being Holy?

If thats true, it is stated incorrectly.

If you are Catholic you are also Christian. Being Christian only requires belief that Jesus Christ is the true Messiah. Catholicism is a branch of Christianity as is Protestant, etc...

ok,that´s true.
But I realy think than it´s more important the death of the Pope than from nine unknown guys.

But you know what, I´m out of this?
I see than you and I have different points of view and I´m shure than anyone will say "I´m wrong" because our belives makes us what we are.

So, what do you say Lomis? we forget this?

I'm willing to drop it, but I refuse to admit that one man's death is more important than nine men who died trying to help others. Each and every one of those people touched other people in different ways. I can guarantee you the families of those people didn't give two hoots on the weekend whether the pope was living or dying.

I'm not denying that the pope's death was a significant event, but as a very ill and very old man, it was hardly surprising. These other men were cut down in their prime due to shock circumstances. I find the other deaths more upsetting is all.

Aren't we all created equal?

Wouldn't he be stinking by now?

I mean, dead body, spring in Europe, 4 million people crammed into the vatican...

You'd have to have a pongy pope by now, right?

I don't think there's much point in arguing over one deceased life being more important than another. Everyone's life is important and precious and of value.

I heard today on the news that they have had about 1 million vistors from all over the world and they are actually asking locals to not come to reduce the crowds. The wait in line right now is about 24 hours long! Also they are about to close the lines to prepare for his funeral Friday. Gosh, that would suck to be standing in line for half a day and then have to go home without even seeing the Pope.
