I don`t know if this is a good idea, but hey..If we have already seen a baby Kronk, drag-pacha and even a tailed Yzma...

This could either be good, or really bad. As long as they have a lot of Yzma in there I'll be fine, if Ertha Kitt (sp?) still voices her, she'll be hilarious!

Eartha Kitt and Patrick Warburton are back and from the ad on the Kronk DVD I think it will be ok-good. The things that bother me are the animation of it is too cheap looking compared to the film and even to Kronk. In fact the animation reminds me of "Teamo Supremo"

.
The only other bad thing is Kuzco's played by Jean-Paul Manoux. It does not sound right (which is odd because in "House of Mouse" and the frist film's game he sounded fine.) But I thinkwith thouse goods and bads now all that matters is the writting.

The new show premiered tonight! Who else saw it? I did, and I thought it was decent, Yzma was what really saved the show for me, just see:
Kronk: You know, I'm probably going to beat Kuzco in the race anyway, so isn't this kind of a waste?
Yzma: Probably, but then what would I do for the rest of the show?
(awkward silence)
The voice cast was good, the guy who played Kuzco (the
Phil of the Future cave man guy) was a lot more like David Spade then I expected him to, the obvious weak link here is the guy who played Pacha, who sounds nothing like John Goodman. But, I think I'm going to enjoy this show as it continues to air.

I turned it on during the scene where Tipo & Chaca were playing that game and saying that they didn't want to be Kuzco because he was a loser. I watched the rest, and it was much more entertaining that I expected it to be. The episode had very clever writing, and I laughed at the many awkward silences. Patrick Warburton and Eartha Kitt really stole the show.
The episode had its share of problems as well. In my opinion, David Spade's replacement actor sounds absolutely nothing like him. If he were playing a 12 year old version of Kuzco, then the voice would be okay, but he sounds like David Spade on helium. Pacha's voice actor sounded like John Goodman a little, but his voice was way too deep. Another problem I noticed was that the episode relied on the first movie WAY too much to get some of the jokes across. I mean, c'mon, the scene where Kuzco turns into a rabbit was almost a mirror image of when he was turned into a llama (both in dialogue and animation). Here are some more examples for this episode:
- They also have the typical "Kuzco interrupts the show so that he can talk to the audience" moments.
- The scene where Kronk and Yzma go to the lab looked exactly like the scene in the first movie (from the minute they got in the roller coaster to when they got off in lab clothes and high fived).
- Yzma also has her "What shall I turn Kuzco into?" monologue, which is in the same fasion as the first movie, but only with different ideas.
It's an okay show, but I don't think I'll go out of my way to see it. It more of the kind of show that you can watch on a rainy day and you'll be entertained.

Yeah, I realized a lot of that kind of relying on the first movie stuff, but I didn't think to mention it until after I had posted my message. But it had enough original jokes to get it by like:
Kuzco: (thinking) She's a hottie, hot, hottie. A hottie, hot, hottie. A hotty, hot...
Girl: Kuzco!
(Kuzco stops thinking)
Girl: Were you just calling me a hottie, hot, hottie in your mind again?"

im watching it right now. Yzma and Kronk are gonna be the ones to make the show for me.
I LOVE The Emperor's New Groove, and one of the reasons is because I love David Spade and his sense of humor. So seeing someone try to imitate his style (poorly), kinda irks me a bit.
What was with the Mr. Incredible rip off? Where he's working out, with the pulleys, looks like they lifted it right from the movie where Mr. Incredible is doing that with trains.

by so it goes
I saw the second half of the show this morning. I came in just as he was turning into a rabbit. I suppose the show was ok. I won't go out of my way to watch, but if there is nothing else on then I'll put it on.
The voices bothered me though. Kuzco just didn't sound good, nor did Pacha. If those voices were better than it would have improved the show greatly in my opinion.

I really enjoyed it too! At first I didn't really care for Kuzco's no voice but as the show went on..it seemed normal. Kronk reallys makes the show.

I just saw the second episode, and I'm very relieved they dropped the structure of the first episode. I expected to see Kuzco turned into something at the beggining of every episode and that every episode would be like a condensed version of the movie like the first episode. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it appears that the first episode was just to get into the spirit of the movie, and then the following episodes only have elements of the original film. And, plus, Pacha's creepy voice wasn't to be heard, and again, Yzma and Kronk steal the show.

I'll pass

The movie is enough for me and I'm not feeling the sequel either. So, I'll pass the TV series of a movie I like.
