I've always thought of Cinderella's dress as silver (which wanders into blue-ish territory throughout the film) and Tiana's as a definite blue. Here's a direct comparison with screencaps:

Color is extremely subjective, and it doesn't help that the color blue is often used as a symbol in cartoons to represent silver or transparent objects. That can make it difficult to discern what really is supposed to be blue or when it's just sort of plopped on there to visually communicate what the object is supposed to be.

It's interesting, I tried looking up the "official" color of Cinderella's dress and people are actually saying it's white! And of course it's extra blue in marketing, but marketing is good at screwing up colors; I guess to make things more "appealing?" For example, both Baloo and Dumbo have been depicted blue in the merchandise instead of the grey they appear to be in their respective films.

I have a Tiana figurine and the dress is silvery, whereas most of the Cinderella figurine's I have are more blue-y.

Baloo really ought to be black as he's a sloth bear which have long shaggy black coats.

Just as a note: Tiana and her mother do live on the poor side of town. Maybe the point is that the black girl has the rags and the white girl has all the pretty stuff.

And I know it’s a matter of opinion, but earthy colors are usually my favorites. The blue dress is clearly supposed to be a bit of a play at the Cinderella cliché, being that it’s a costume and everything. The general viewer does assume Cinderella's ballgown blue, whether or not that’s correct. It really doesn't matter to me, 'cause I always thought it was beautiful in any color.

Anyway, someone pointed out Belle’s dress from the cover of The Enchanted Christmas--I love that one! I can’t believe I forgot that. My mom’s even got a doll of Belle in that dress (Beauty and the Beast was always her favorite movie).

As far as Giselle goes, I was watching Enchanted last night on ABCFamily, and the only dress I really like is the red one during “So Close.”

C'mon people, this is the perfect dress and everyone knows it :

Well Lazario I always liked it when it looked that way, and would wear it if only the colors were a little more...finely done, into some kind of design (or simply, some parts pink, some parts blue).

Tiana's dress seems to be an almost silver white when the light is turned off in Charlotte's room. But then why it would be blue when the yellow (or pink?) light is on, or outside (when I guess the light is still abelt to get to it), I do not understand how that would make it blue.

In Cinderella, her dress is most definately silver (silver white?), but absense of light and the darkness actually makes it blue, because the darkness, or I guess the surroundings, are very blue. It makes more sense. You can also see Prince Charming's outfit turns from yellow white to blue in the dark.

Soemthing I don't get is in the theme parks, Tiana's lilypad princess wedding dress is silvery white green, but Cinderella's dress should be that silver instead, as Tiana's lilypad dress never looked silver in the movie! I just don't get it!

Divinity, yes, but Tiana looking like she's in rags doesn't make it any better/prettier, does it?

Maybe you can tell me, is it actually silver when you see it in person, or is it just some lighting and some shots make it look silver?

When I saw her in person, I believe it was pretty much blue, just light enough to almost be silver but not really.

They also need to fix her bustle and puffy sleeves, and make them the correct lighter color they are from the movie.

Here's a picture of what it should be more like, though it still isn't quite right. But I'm amazed they even did her three pleats right!:

As Belle's Prince posted, in DisneyLand Paris, I'm almost positive its silver ......

I think it's more to do with the lighting, and possibly camera flash. I'm sure this is the same dress photographed outside.

Well, I believe in the John Waters' theory: fashion terrorism. Of course, I'm not a woman. But if I was, I imagine gals and queens would scream when I walked down the street (if their reactions to Björk's swan dress on E! and Vh1 are any indication). I hate the idea that attractiveness is somehow judged by committee.

Anyway... You know, looking at Aurora's dress like that makes me remember how, as a child, I always wanted to see Fauna suddenly be like: "........GREEN!!!!"

I think that that dress would have been really pretty in green.

I agree it would look great green, but blue is still best. Actually, purple.

Goliath, if you can say tiny things, we can object to those tiny things back! I once remember some new report about how black people said it was the little things white people did that were slightly offensive that bothered them more because they were so subtle and just accepted like it was normal.

I forgto this was actually about the prettiest dress. I still pick Cinderella's, but for a while wondered if hers was third after Belle's then Aurora's. But the wing-like sleeves and flowiness, plus sparkly silver color, makes Cinderella's win for me. And I don't think Tiana's can actually be called very pretty. Unique and even stunning, sure, but prettiest...no.
