Has anyone seen the French movie Amélie?

Over at IMDB, people are saying that PD reminds them of it, or some are even saying PD is a "rip-off" of Amélie...

Personally, I love PD, Amélie, and Tim Burton films...

I totally loved "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain", but Pushing Daisies is certainly not a rip-off of that. It was inspired by Amélie, Bryan Fuller himself has said that, but the main theme is different and the colors are even brighter on Pushing Daisis.

Another amazing episode!!!! And scary. And of course, since it's Halloween we're in the woods with a horse chasing two of our beloved characters (and one hurts her ankle) Greetings from Sleepy Hollow.
We learn more about Olive's past as some secrets are revealed and some still secret.
And Ned and the aunts share some truly moving scenes, plus Lee Pace looked so hot in this episode.

Last episode was amazing!!!
Very clever writing and the characters are becoming som of the loveliest to grace TV.
Olive was so sweet this episode and I love how she and Chuck are bonding.
Ned seemed kind of neurotic but Emerson was hilarious.
I hope the ratings were better than the Halloween ones.

New intro!! It's cute, but I liked the first one better, but maybe it's just that I'm not used to the new one.

Great episode so far. Hilarious moments and hilarious lines.
Emerson has soooo many layers, he likes Pop-up books? Seriously? That is sooo cute, I love them.

Awww, the aunts, so sad. And Olive is sooo sweet to take care of them and her and Chuck developing a plan how to make them happy again.

Eeeewwwwm that is sooo gross. Thank God there's no smell-TV. :D

"Follow the yellow, thick hose"

Oh my, the car!!

Oh my God, that is soooooo ridiculous, and cute and adorable and hilarious all at the same time.

I'm gonna cry too.

Olive is the cutest character this episode.

OMG! A new day had come for the Darling Mermaid Darlings

I want a cup-pie!!

OMG! A cliff-hanger, and a really good one. Can't wait for next week.
What a fabulous episode, the right Pushing Daisies formula.

I lóve Ellen Greene. Even after all these years, she's still Audrey. I know that's not exactly a nice thing to say about an actress portraying a different character now, but I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I loved her little song at the end of this week's episode. Then again, I loved the entire episode.
I can't believe we only have two episodes left... I support the writers and all, but this strike had better be over soon <_<

Am I the only one still watching this, because if so, you're missing something!

Last night's episode was certainly one of the best ever! It was funny, mysterious and has a cliff-hanger that had me go "whoa, dammit, now I have to wait for two weeks!!"

Chuck and Ned are just adorable as is Olive and her new love.
Alfredo's love speech was sooo amazingly romantic.
And Molly Shanno gave such a fabulous performance. I'm glad she might stay for more episodes than just those two.

OMG!!!!! What an episode!!!!
I can't believe how amazing it was and that we did get to see Ned and Chuck to reconcile at her dad's grave, what a heart-breaking moment.
And Aunt Lily is Chuck's mother????!!! I had never expected this, such a great plot-twist!! Just thing of all the possibilites!!
And Emerson is a dad, how cute is that?
Some great writing of course as well, like the part about Ned having word vomit and Emerson replying something like "And then you slipped in it, fell on your ass and are now covered in it"
Olive's imitaion of Ned was priceless!!

And to make this day even better:

Pushing Daisies got 3 Golden Globe nominations!!!!
1 for best Comedy
1 for Lee Pace and
1 for Anna Friel
Awesome, yay!!

YES! Oh my, this is gréat news! I was really worried about PD, being a new show and all, so hearing this really takes a load off my chest.
It is too bad season one will stay a mini-season, but at least we have a cliffhanger ;)

I wouldn't worry about that. I think the question is when. Since the first season is already over and no new episodes are gonna be shot I hope the DVDs come faster, maybe like June/July. It's maybe the DVD I'm most excited to get this year.
Pushing Daisies did okay for its first season, so Warner (who produce PD) won't miss the opportunity to make money by selling the DVDs and maybe, since I only expect a 2-Disc set, like Grey's Anatomy's first seson, and the low price might make people try it and maybe more will tune in next season.
It's a show for DVD because of its movie-like atmosphere so I guess it's even better to watch on DVD and many people might start to like it.

This weekend the Paley festival took place in LA and Pushing Daisies had a panel as well.
Here's some scoop and other info from Michael Ausiello from TV Guide:

Participants: Bryan Fuller (creator), Lee Pace (Ned), Anna Friel (Chuck), Kristin Chenoweth (Olive), Chi McBride (Emerson), Ellen Greene (Vivian), Peter Ocko (coexecutive producer), Dan Jinks (executive producer), Bruce Cohen (executive producer)and Frenemy Kristin Dos Santos (moderator).

MIA: Swoosie Kurtz couldn't attend because she was with her ailing mother.

Popularity contest: During the introductions, Chenoweth garnered the most applause from the 800-plus crowd. McBride came in a close second, followed by Pace and Friel.

Funny guy: McBride kept the audience in stitches with one zinger after another. Among his more memorable cracks:

• "I try to make my choices based on material — except for that one show I did, Killer Instinct. Or as I called it, 'Kill It, It Stinks.'"

• "The Nine was the first show in TV history named after its audience."

• Speaking of The Nine, McBride confirmed that his character, Malcolm, was behind the bank robbery: "He had too many bills.... It's a long story."

Kristin's Choice: Chenoweth chose Daisies over a starring role in Broadway's Young Frankenstein. "You have these decisions that come along in your career and sometimes they're not easy," she said. "But I definitely feel like I made the right one."

FYI: Ellen Greene is fluent in two languages — English and Crazy — and we love her for it. She also laughs like a donkey.

Pushing Back: On rumored backstage tensions with Warner Bros. over the show's budget, Fuller said the studio eventually "came around and got behind us and gave us a budget that" we could live with.

Wish List: Fuller wants Carol Burnett on the show.

Child's Play: Asked whether Ned and Chuck are capable of having a child together, Fuller responded, "I think her egg would die when his sperm hit it."

Best Buys: Daisies' first season DVD streets in early September. A soundtrack is also being discussed.

For PETA's Sake: Although it's never been addressed on the show, Fuller confirmed that Ned is, in fact, a vegetarian. Why? Because once the meat made contact with his insides, it would come back to life "and crawl out of him."

Strike Fallout: "I think in the long-run, [the break] was a really good thing for the show," Fuller admitted. "It gave us a chance to look back at the nine episodes and [figure out] what was working and what was not working. The arc of the first nine was a soft, romantic arc. In the second season, we want to do something a little harder and a little more aggressive in the style of storytelling. We learned a lot of lessons."

Spoiler Alert: Chuck will definitely find out who her real mother is in Season 2. "It's going to be interesting to see how she reacts to that information," said Fuller, "and how the Pie Maker tries to control her trajectory and how that will complicate their relationship. There are going to be some nice surprises."
