Cast Away - the part where he uses the ice skate to pull out his tooth. I close my eyes every time.

The only scene I could never watch was the bathroom scene in The Shining. The first time I saw it, I turned around scared. When I taped the movie, I always fastforwarded it, so I didn't have to see it. When I watched it with a couple of friends, I couldn't tell them that I wanted to fastforward it, cause I was scared. So I was forced to watch it, and it wasn't scary at all

Every time I watch When Harry Met Sally, I make sure to stop the film after this exchange of dialogue:
Sally: And I'm going to be 40!
Harry: When?
Sally: Someday...
Harry: In 8 years!
Cause the film really just tanks after that. I always hated hated HATED that it leads to them having sex, then sidestepping away from each other for awhile, then suddenly ending up together. It totally destroyed the whole premise of the film, the whole foundation of their relationship, and turned what could have been a good and unique romcom where the two protagonists don't get together into just another cliched "two people who don't want to be together end up together" romcom.

I agree with Prudence at least where it comes to the last half of the Two Towers - the rest of the trilogy is really good but that movie just drags and drags and drags.
The scene in face off where they cut off the faces always totally grossed me out.

*SPOILERS*
Don Cheney's stabbing in Zodiac
Billy Costigan's headshot in The Departed.
First time I saw it, it scared the shit outta me, not so much because of the gore but because it came out of freakin' nowhere. It doesn't bother me as much anymore, but still....
Tim Messenger getting his head splatted to pieces in Hot Fuzz *END SPOILERS*
A good many decapitations in The Last Samurai, Three Kings (extremely fake and over the top there, but still) and many other films.
For that matter, basically any film where someone is decapitated bothers me.
Cheers,
JM

Oh, come on...I knew right away when
Anthony Anderson didn't get in the elevator with them he was done for. it was still extremely well done and awesome, however.

-rape scenes
-animals or children's deaths
-sex scenes just because....
- basically all of our so called masterpieces (Spanish and Latinamerican movies) 98% of them are dramas and 98% relate to sex or have at least one VERY graphic sex scene
....it's not that I particularly hate those movies... is just that all are the same

A movie which instantly comes to mind is "The NeverEnding Story"; for that tragic scene where the horse, Artax, dies in the Swamps of Sadness.
I can't for the life of me understand why so many 80's Kids like myself hold that movie in such great esteem and admiration....it's so sad and depressing! I suspect a lot of my misgivings and hatred for "NeverEnding Story" comes down to the swamp scene, because, when I was a little kid, I owned a pony and could totally relate to the panic and emotion within that scene. Does anyone else agree?

All of Jaws (1974). It's just so awful. While watching it, I didn't give a crap who died or when just so long as that boring film would end.

Ever since I saw it as a little child, Edward Scissorhands still disturbs me. The scene where you first see Edward in the shadows is just so creepy, even thinking about it now makes me feel funny. And now that i'm older, have learnt to apreciate it and classed it as one of my favourite films it still has a powerful effect on me. I think it's mainly down to the score - it may be beautiful at times (Kim dancing in the ice) but the majority of it is intensely sinister - still keeps me awake at night. Am I alone in this?

The scene in Hunchback of Notre Dame called "A Guy Like You".

The song could not have been more out of tune with the rest of the movie.

Scenes where people or monsters come out of tv screens. Sat through all of The Ring till the very end...good god.
And the winking picture in Stephan King's It bothered me far more than the clown.

The scene in The Dead Next Door during the big cult's congregation. After the preacher villain gets shot, he starts stumbling through the building hallways and drooling. That drooling grosses me out so much, I can't explain it...

Kill Bill - Vol. 01
The "I'm-gonna-pull-your-eye-out-and-then-crush-it" scene is just... ugh. Can't watch that. Even though she did deserve it. It's just so disgusting, the thought alone makes me cringe.

The rape scene in Pulp Fiction. Not so much the actual raping (which is unsettling and horific, no doubt), but the fact that Ving Rhames shoots the guy in the crotch and you see chunks flying from the shot. Totally justified given the circumstances, but still.... yuck.
Cheers,
JM

It was a long time ago, but I seem to remember a scene in Hostel where a girl's eye is hanging out, and she cuts it off with scissors or something. Ugh! That and anything where blood comes out of a man's you know what. Argh, the part where that happens to Defoe in "Antichrist" really messed me up.

You know what? I've seen that movie about 7 times... but never before in Widescreen. That must be in the widescreen version. I've never noticed it.

The Fly when the guy rips his entire face off.
Similar with Cabin Fever.
