Gah, I'm a day late to the awards! I just noticed the thread! *Is afraid to find his seat for fear of how many times Loomis has sat pantsless in it*

Whoo-hoo, UD awards! You're doing a great job hosting Aaron, very amusing and witty intro! Keep it up!

While more and more movies seem to be created inside a computer these days, the grand live-action tradition of cinema still requires a stage for everything to unfold on (even the CGI-heavy ones!). Those sets need to not only look nice on screen, but also be fully functional in supporting the demands of the script. Someone has to make sure that all the elements of composing a sho come together for just the right look and feel, and several films impressed UDers enough in that department to earn them nominations. Those films are:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
King Kong

...and the winner is...

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Up next: Best Cinematography in a Feature Film!

Lights, Cameras, Action!

Well, we won't worry about the action so much just yet, but those first two steps are essential for making the action possible. Which 2005 film did the best job with lighting and camera work? Well, UDers narrowed it down to 5, and before we announce a winner, here are those finalists:

Batman Begins
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
King Kong
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

...And the award for Best Cinematography in a Feature Film goes to:

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Coming right up: Best Score!

Hey Madonna, I hate to break up your and Amy's conversation, but I thought you might like to know your biggest fan is making his way to the stage. Ladies and gentlemen, here to present our next award, please welcome MadonnasManOne!

Film scores can be just as legendary as the film, itself. Some of the greatest films of all time, have the most memorable scores of all time. King Kong, Jaws, Star Wars, E.T., and Indiana Jones. These scores are just as unforgettable as the films they are from. A film score can create a sense of wonder, magic, and mystery, helping bring the viewer deeper into the story, and enhancing the visual experience. The nominees for Best Score in a Film are:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Danny Elfman

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by Harry Gregson-Williams

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by Patrick Doyle

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith by John Williams

Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride by Danny Elfman

...and the winner is:

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith by John Williams.

Hip-hip-hooray for Narnia!

I've got another interview and this time it's with all three members of the title The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

Luke: How does it feel to be a winner, your Majesty?

White Witch: Don't waste my time with flattery.

Luke: Not to be rude, ma'am, but I was talking to the lion. Aslan?

Aslan: Once a king or queen of Narnia, always a king or queen.

Luke: I see.

White Witch: You know, Aslan, I'm a little disappointed in you. You could have dressed up for this, you know.

Aslan: What's wrong with how I look? I've groomed myself. My mane grew back in, instantly. I look very regal.

White Witch: You're naked. Put on a bowtie or something, man.

Aslan: Do not cite the Deep Magic to me, Witch. I was there when it was written.

Luke: Right. What are you wearing, Jadis?

White Witch: Oh, this old thing? It's nothing much. Ginarrbrik picked it out. Briky, are you watching back at home? You should be in bed now, little man!

Luke: And you're wearing the wood of some kind of fruit tree. Is that a fresh coat of lacquer I smell, Wardrobe?

Aslan: Um, it doesn't talk.

Luke: Right. Is that a fresh coat of lacquer I smell, Aslan?

Aslan: I don't wear any of this lacquer you speak of!

Luke: Okay, your Highness. Take it easy.

Aslan: RAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luke: Someone's been eating some of Beaver's fish and chips, eh?

White Witch: Oh, I simply love Beaver's fish and chips! It's not a Friday night without it!

Wardrobe: Creak.

Luke: I'm sorry, what's that?

Wardrobe: Creak.

Luke: I thought you didn't talk?

Wardrobe: Uh, it was Aslan.

Luke: I see your door moving, it's clearly you, Wardrobe.

Wardrobe: No, it's me, Aslan. RAW!!!!

Aslan: I'm surrounded by idiots.

Luke: Very good quote, you must be a fan of lion movies?

Aslan: What do you mean?

Luke: I mean the quote you just did. Scar, right?

Aslan: Remember who you are. I don't know what you're talking about.

Luke: You just did it again.

Aslan: Did what? Everything the light touches is our kingdom.

Luke: Alright, alright, enough of that. You don't want to ruffle Escapay's feathers.

Wardrobe: If it's all the same, could we wrap up this interview? I've got to pee.

Luke: Sure, sure. Thanks for the chat. Any final words?

Wardrobe: Pee.

White Witch: Briky, if you're still up when I get home, I'm going to be very angry, my little man. I might even freeze the tele. Or clean up crumbs with your hat, dahling.

Aslan: I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts...diddly dee....

Luke: Thanks again, all of you. And now, back to Aaron!

I wouldn't go that far. 24 is good, but, it's not better than what ANYONE else has. At any rate, I'll give you 24, but, the other shows mentioned can't contend against ABC's hit shows.

With a lot of huge animation fans on this forum(particulary Simpsons fans), I'm sorry to say lots of people disagree!

If you didn't already know that our next presenter loves animation, all you'd have to do is look at his name. Here to give the award for Best Animated Feature, please welcome Timon/Pumba fan!

Animation is a funny thing! It has changed A LOT over the years. 50 years ago there were only 2 animation companies: Disney and Warner Brother. Now we have multiple animations companies from Pixar to Dreamworks to Disney to whole separate studios that make crappy DTV's about ponies! And there are also so many types of animation. This year, we have 4 nominations. One animation classic with Disney, their first full-lenght CG film from WDFA without Pixar. One CG film from PDI Dreamworks (the creators of Shrek 1 and 2 and Antz) NOT Dreamworks Animation (The creators of SharkTale, Father of the Pride and the upcoming Over the Hedge). One Stop-Motion film from Tim Burton, who this time is working for Warner Brothers, NOT Touchstone, which is owned by Disney, or the main Disney branch. And finally one stop-motion film from Aardman, an animation studio from England which gets their films distributed by Dreamworks, like Disney and Pixar before Disney bought Pixar! Other animated films that didn't get nominated this year include one CGI film from Blue-Sky, which is like Dreamworks Animation, BUT NOT like PDI Dreamworks. One hand-drawn film by a Japanese studio called Ghibli. which get distributed by Disney ONLY in the U.S. and even one CG film from some studio in Englad which got distributed by Disney in America but not anywhere else like Ghibli. Confusing no? Well anyway the nominations for Best Animated film are:

Chicken Little
Madagascar
Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride
Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

...and the winner is:

Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

I've just spoken with Off-Topic Hall Security and after some clever persuasion (*cough $20 and a Lion King slip-cover), they've agreed to allow our next guest out of their custody to present tonight's Special Award for the Best TV Series of All Time (2006 edition). Parents are, however, advised to escort their children out of the room and the next five minutes will proceed with a twenty second broadcast delay. That said, please welcome the one, the only... LOOMIS!

Hi everyone, I'm Loomis.

TV. Teacher. Mother. Secret Lover. Not that I've ever - you know - with a TV before. Well, there was that one time, but it was an accident and the subsequent charges were dropped. I also hear that the TV set made a full recovery, and I have now learned my lesson. I am, of course, required by law to notify all neighbours that I am a TV offender. What's this? Oh, this isn't my support group? Oh, this is awkward. Yes, I AM aware that I'm not wearing any pants!!!

...And the nominees are:

"Boy Meets World"
"Friends"
"I Love Lucy"
"Seinfeld"
"The Simpsons"

And the award goes to...

The Simpsons

Up Next: Best Adapted Screenplay

Disney got beat TWICE on a Disney fan site.

Man, the tide is turning. I think some of the non-Disney animater haters protesteth too much!

Have to admit, W & G was the best of the three I have seen...

Making his last of many appearances at the ceremony tonight, here once again is lord-of-sith!

It is a hard task to write an adapted screenplay for a film these days. Fans of the original work are becoming more and more critical. Sometimes, it even constitutes having to shrink a 700+ page book into a two and a half hour film. The nominees for Best Adapted Screenplay of a Feature Film are...

Batman Begins
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

...And the winner is:

Batman Begins!

And the Original Screenplay award is coming right up!

Once more, here's UD's own Timon/Pumba Fan!

Writing for films is a terribly difficult job. You can either adapt from
a book (though you have to make changes) or you can make up a totally
original story on your own to adapt to the film. For original screenplays, we've got one chapter of a long yet beloved story of a galaxy far far away, one about an inventor and his dog trying to catch a gigantic rabbit, and one about a person learning that it's never to late too... anyway we've got three original stories that were hard to make, but after long days of hard work, were completed. Now we have to pick out which one of these original stories we like best. And the nominations for Best Original Screenplay are:

The 40 Year Old Virgin
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

...And the Best Original Screenplay award goes to:

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith by George Lucas!

Next, we'll turn back to television with the award for Best Reality Show!
