Disneykid wrote:I remember posting a list in that thread, but I don't feel like digging it out, so I'll post here. I think to qualify as a theme song, a song needs to not only be played during the credits (where it's not attached to any specific scene and therefore is supposed to represent the film in general), but it also needs to be woven into the score instrumentally several times. If it's reprised at the end, that's also a good indication. Now, there are obviously exceptions to the rule. Cinderella's theme song (A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes), is played throughout the score and reprised as a finale, but it's not played during the credits. Likewise, Lady and the Tramp begins and ends with a song that I can't even think of, but Bella Notte better exemplifies the story theme and is played in other scenes instrumentally, I believe. For films that aren't musicals, such as The Emperor's New Groove, then the credits song automatically becomes the theme.

a. You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly! is debatable since it does end the film as a reprise and is featured in the score. I chose Second Star, though, because the story is really about Never Land, not flight.
b. I think the film ends with a reprise of this, but I don't remember
c. Colors of the Wind is debatable since it's echoed throughout the score and is featured in the credits. I chose If I Never Knew You, though, because Pocahontas is first and foremost a romance, and while there's a vocal reprise of IINKY in the 10th Anniversary cut, there's none for Colors.
d. You'll Be in My Heart could also work, though Two Worlds begins and ends the film, and I think the story more bridging a gap between species than it is about love.
e. No songs are reprised, not even instrumentally, and several songs are played over the credits. This is anyone's guess, and I just chose this Disney did as their single.
Thanks Disneykid, and yeah I did do something like this thread before but I want this one to be official lol. I like your list better here.

I do have some questions on a few though and I will point them out below.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - Someday My Prince Will Come (Agree)
Pinocchio - When You Wish Upon A Star (Agree)
Dumbo - When I See An Elephant Fly (Disagree)
I believe that "Baby Mine" is Dumbo's Theme Song. That song talks about Dumbo and how his mom loves her no matter what.

Bambi - Love is a Song (Agree because no other song fits a theme lol)
Cinderella - A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes (Agree)
Alice in Wonderland - Alice in Wonderland (Agree)
Peter Pan - The Second Star to the Right (Agree and Disagree)
You can fly song talks about Peter Pan and how he goes about his days and stuff being happy lol.
Lady and the Tramp - Bella Notte (Agree)
Sleeping Beauty - Once Upon a Dream (Agree)
One Hundred and One Dalmatians - Dalmatian Plantation (Agree only song about the dogs in this film lol.)
The Sword in the Stone - The Legend of Sword in the Stone (Disagree)
Is that a song? lol
The Jungle Book - The Bare Necessities (Agree then Disagree)
On the soundtrack the Theme song to The Jungle Book is "My Own Home (The Jungle Book Theme)" But I do not get why they would use that because it has nothing to do with the film but it clearly states The Jungle Book Theme Song, So I am confused on this one.

The Aristocats - The Aristocats (Agree, the title song)
Robin Hood - Oo-De-Lally (Agree, nothing else fits but this one)
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - Winnie the Pooh (Agree as this is the theme song lol)
The Rescuers - Tomorrow is Another Day (Agree and Disagree, I searched for theme songs and they said it was Rescue Aid Society. I am leaning more to "Someone Is Waiting For You" Since the movie is about Penny and saving her. This one is HARD!

The Fox and the Hound - Best of Friends (Agree)
The Great Mouse Detective - Goodbye So Soon (agree since no other song is sung only the villian song and this is the only other lol)
Oliver & Company - Streets of Gold?b (I think "Once Upon In New York City" is the theme because it tells the story of Oliver.
The Little Mermaid - Part of Your World (Agree lol duhh hehe)
Beauty and the Beast - Beauty and the Beast (Agree)
Aladdin- A Whole New World (Agree)
The Lion King - Circle of Life (Agree)
Pocahontas - If I Never Knew You (Agree)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame - Bells of Notre Dame (Disagree)
I think "Someday" is the theme song.
Hercules - Go the Distance (Agree)
Mulan - Reflection (Agree)
Tarzan - Two Worlds (Agree then Disagree)
You'll be in my heart once again talks about how Tarzan's mom loves him no matter what, something like Baby Mine.

The Emperor's New Groove - My Funny Friend and Me (Agree)
Atlantis: The Lost Empire - Where the Dream Takes You (Only song in the film LOL)
Lilo & Stitch - I Can't Help Falling in Love with You? (Agree)
Treasure Planet - I'm Still Here (Agree)
Brother Bear - Through My Eyes (Disagree)
No Way Out Is the Brother Bear Theme song. It says it on the soundtrack lol. I thought Look Through My Eyes was the theme as well, but Disney picked this one for it.

Home on the Range - Little Patch of Heaven (Disagree)
Anytime You Need A Friend, I believe is the theme song. It fits more in the film and talks about the animals being friends no matter what.
Chicken Little - Shake a Tail Feather (One Little Slip is the theme for this one. Shake A Tail Feather was a bonus track I believe.
Meet the Robinsons - The Future Has Arrived (Disagree)
On the DVD they said that Rob Thomas's song fit the theme of the movie, so their you go lol.
What do you all think?
