You got that right! I'm just glad I'm October born. :p Somehow, I think someone from Disney read my mind yet they skipped the wish about releasing Lilo and Stitch SE.

I wonder what this "New Groove Edition" contains as bonus features! Since I don't have the Collector's Edition, I can't wait!

And Looney Tunes, and Titanic.

in a perfect world disney would take every animated film from snow white to home on the range and restore them using lowry restoration, then release each one in order (2 a month) with a consistent case and cover format including a number on the spine (#1-44) and every cover will use the movie's original poster art on one side and be reversible to contain some newer art on the other. each dvd will be a 2 disc release, except maybe for those ww2 era ones that might not have much bonus material.

basically this should be disney's "critereon collection".

disc 1 of each release would include the movie only and a dd5.1 and dts track, at least one commentary by someone and be dual layered and contain nothing else. this is maintain maximum bitrate for audio and video quality.

disc 2 of each release would be for all the extras, which would be documentaries, deleted scenes, interviews, trailors, still galleries, bios, and those lame games no one plays, etc etc.

of course it'll never happen because why would disney want to do something correctly and treat their properties and their audience with respect?

i should run their dvd division. they suck.

well, if they are going to do a re-release, at least it's one of my favorties ever.

Please tell me there's a better reason for releasing this than the Sneak Peek at Disney’s upcoming movie “Kronk’s New Groove”! That's just lame. Hopefully I can find a collector's edition.

Try DMC, that's where I got mine from.

I've bought TENG twice now, and that's plenty for me. I'm certainly not upgrading if all that's added is a sneak peek. Of course, upgrades aren't what they are going for. If this turns out to be essentially the same as the CE, then that's a nice treat for those who didn't get it in the first go-round. If it turns out to be only 1 disc, then I have to wonder what the reason is.

This has less stuff on it than the Collector's Edition!

Indeed. If that listing is accurate (& complete), then this edition won't even have the DTS 5.1 track that the original CE did.

Good lord Luke, that was fast; we got word of this like, two days ago!

I'm in a sarcastic mood today; if you hate complaining, skip this post.

Whoa.....sign......me.......up! Freakin' sweet! (seriously, if that's listed as a bonus feature on the press release, Disney DVD will reach a new all-time low.

At least it has something to do with the movie......

*Sigh* No comment.

Finally, a redeeming feature.

Good, good.
Luke wrote:• Deleted scene: Destruction of Pacha’s Village
So are we not including the other ones, Disney?
Luke wrote:• DVD-ROM Features: Playable Demo
............kay. Um.......of what, may I ask?

Hmmm, Luke, you seem to have forgotten the bonus features list in your post.

Good lord, this DVD is shaping up to be bad. I'll gladly stick with my Collector's Edition. Anyone who was planning on getting this before this fact sheet was released, start having second thoughts because I don't see the press release changing much.

There´s nothing special about this "Emperor´s New Groove" release. It is obviously going to be a 1-disc edition, since it includes all the bonus features from the previous standard edition (there are just three featurettes under the ´making of´ section and one single deleted scene) plus the sneek peak at "Kronk´s New Groove". This is the most shameless commercial trick Disney has ever pulled on its costumers! Wouldn´t it be much easier to simply lower the price of the 2-disc edition and include a "Kronk´s New Groove" flyer or sticker on it?!

Well, I bet there are a lot of people who are going to buy this simply for the "collector´s packaging" (aka cheap piece of cardboard).

Looks like I'll be buying the CE version off of DMC for only $21.95 :)

I know a little boy who hangs around here that will probably try to scam Disney customer service into giving him a free piece of cardboard.

Oh, why didn't you people take advantage of BestBuy.com's offer of TENG CE when it was at $16.99! It was all a sign! :p

Hey, where's the mention of a slipcover? Will it have a hologram to it? I NEED TO KNOW! :shifty:

*take that sarcastically.

Well, glad to know the current CE is worth keeping; plus, it has "rare" packaging. So...hah! beat that newer release! ;) No need for double dippin in this one..but I bet MMP would. :D

Oh, maybe that's where I got it, not DMC. I can't even remember my purchases anymore. And now I'm really for real going to bed.
