Thanks for the heads up on the Easter Eggs MadonnasManOne. I'm about to put in the DVD and give it another viewing (the first viewing since the theater) and I will be sure to check out those Easter Eggs.

I didn't buy mine at Future Shop like I did with Jungle book. I think the steelbook is overrated. All you get is an extra empty case, with no bonus disc whatsoever. So instead I decided to buy Ratatouille today from Wal-Mart. There are actually three bonuses from Wal-Mart:

1. Wal-Mart exclusive 50 bonus points for Disney's Movie Rewards
2. Ratatouille Cooking Fun for All Ages DVD
3. Collector recipe cards (inside the cooking DVD). One side of these cards has a recipe, the other side has info about a character from the movie along with some food facts. Characters that have cards in the set are Remy, Gusteau, Linguini, Emile, Colette, and Skinner.

Like I said earlier, Future Shop's set would be a whole lot better if they put a bonus disc in that empty Steelbook, therefore I find the Wal-Mart set a better option. Also, next to Ratatouille on the shelf was Cars with its Ultimate Ride bonus DVD.

Im just coming in late to this thread and only read the last 4 pages... I'm going to Best Buy tomorrow and hoping to get this movie cash - is this the first time Disney has provided a voucher to see a free Disney movie? I've never heard of this. To me, that is better than the discs being offered at the other stores. Also, how long do these promotional specials usually last? A week? 2 weeks, before the price goes back to the standard $19.99?

I don't know if I would say it is the best Pixar film. I did see it in the theaters and it was very cute and clever from beginning to end - very well done but I wasn't as wowed over it as I was over Cars. I saw Cars 2 times in the theater but I only cared to see this movie once, but I still thought it was an excellently done film... I guess it is just a matter of preference. I thought Cars was just incredible to watch on the screen. Maybe I bought into the whole cars nostalgia - I definitely fell in love with Luigi and Guido, whereas I don't think there were such endearing of characters in Rat. And doesn't it seem like this film was marketed towards adults - I noticed most of the merchandise (at least at the Disney Store, which is the only place I saw it) was all geared towards adults. yes, there were some plushies but even that could be argued was really geared as much to adults as to children.

What is this steel cover you guys are talking about? The photos some of you have posted - it just looks like a standard case to me.

Best Buy had movie cash for At World's End earlier this year so its not the first time. The current sale prices should be good though Saturday night when the stores close. They could be on sale next week, but will probably be $19.99 starting Sunday.

Steelbooks are nice. I only have one (Transformers), but I plan to get more. Its basically a metal case that opens like any other DVD case. The inside where the discs are stored is a clear plastic, and there is artwork under that.

The Ratatouille Steelbook is only available at Futureshop in Canada. I really wished they would ship to the US.

Anyhow, I just finished watching my Ratatouille DVD. I actually appreciated this film much more the second time around. I think this is an excellent film. It is still toward the bottom of my list of favorites in terms of Pixar films, not because it is bad, but rather because it of tough competition. However, I have to say I am very disappointed in the lack of bonus features for this film. I would love to have seen a double disc release for this, as I know we all would have.

As far as I know, the only way to get the pin set is online. There are no instructions for doing it via mail. I'm not saying that you can't, just that there are no instructions for doing it any other way.

I think this time around Wal-Mart had the better bonuses. The cooking DVD has Emeril, so BAM! You can kick it up a notch! Definitely better than just getting an extra empty DVD case.

And so maybe for whatever reason they just didn't really push this movie, might be the same reason for the lack of bonus material. Kind of a shame. It was a very good movie and shouldn't be treated like some lesser title. Is there any word of a 2-disc edition later on, as everyone had said they planned to do this with the Cars DVD?

No word on a 2 disc for Ratatouille. If there is one, like Cars, I wouldn't look for it for a few years.

Well, I bought my copy at Target after all for the Bonus Disc. I saw the Chef's hat and apron at Circuit City, but it looked like it was just kids' size, so not what I was looking for. I decided to go for the extras disc, though it's really a buck rather than free, since other places had the DVD at 14.99 rather than Target's 15.99. I would have loved and preferred to get the Wal-Mart bonus of the Food Network shows, but I didn't want to pay 19.99 to get the extra DVD. Probably should have though, and would have if I'd known about the extra 50 Movie Reward points. However, it's not that I'm cheap, it's that money is really tight for me right now. Maybe I'll get that extra disc off Ebay sometime, ha. I really like Food Network shows and it would have been a nice extra. As for the Target extras disc, haven't watched it yet.

I did watch the movie though, and I had never seen it before, so that was awesome! I absolutely loved it! I know it's rather like Cyrano, or even more like "Ben and Me," but I still found it full of originality and style, and great fun! I also was surprised that my dad watched the whole thing with me and really enjoyed it, even staying up late to finish watching it. He's not much for animation. Anyway, I don't know if I'd call this my new favorite PIXAR flick, but it's definitely high on the list. It is hard to pick a favorite, though I usually give that honor to "The Incredibles." Their best flick is probably "Monsters Inc." though. However, I love all their movies so far, but the lowest on my list is "Cars," and "Ratatouille" is definitely in a top spot! A also really loved "Your Friend the Rat!" It was awesome to see a short so reminiscent of those '60's Disney ones!

I gotta say, I really want one of those Remy toys from the Disney Store now, though not sure if I should get a beanie or an action figure.

A part of me can't help but think that Disney is thinking ahead. They know that if they give us a very poor release now, that many people will go out and buy it anyway since that is the only release available. If they hold off on adding all the good bonus features until later, they can get people to purchase a re-release later. This might just be one of Disney's marketing ideas.

Just finished watching it. I LOVE the "Your Friend, The Rat" short. As a fan of fancy/pet rats and someone who is always trying to show people that even wild rats are good and have their place, this was fantastic
