I was wondering if anyone has heard about any other exclusives? I know the Wal-Mart one was already posted.

Also a odd question... Is Ratatouille going to be available only in Widescreen? While this is the version I will get, I'm sure I'll get asked by some family members, etc... about a Fullscreen version.

I think that its a great decision making the movie a widescreen-only dvd. I dont know why people would buy fullscreen dvds.

The only thing I have found is they don't like black bars on the TV. Whats odd is that most know that the Widescreen shows more image, but are so used to Fullscreen/Pan and Scan they don't care. I've noticed less complaining with films in 1.85:1, but anything wider is usually "annoying". I think this is because a lot of shows are shown on TV in Widescreen now, so its becoming more common.

I know several people that would buy a Fullscreen Ratatouille if they could, all for different reasons. However I am glad that the fading out of Fullscreen is finally starting to happen. We have three video stores in town and only one rents Widescreen only (Movie Gallery), if the two local stores switched to Widescreen only it would probably cause a lot of complaints. One of the stores has started to get a few Widescreen titles. However they stock like two copies of the Widescreen, and maybe 20 some of the Fullscreen. I've noticed that they have started doing this recently, and I was shocked that both stores added a Blu-ray section beside their PS3 stuff.

The exlusive case from Future Shop is awesome! I love how the front and back is like a real menu.

That toy is available at the Disney Store though.

Another great Steelbook from Futureshop. To bad its not available in the US.

To make the 'Ratatouille' set complete, they should add a real cookery book'!

Don't you all think that the way in which frozen food product lines are ridiculed in 'Ratatouille' could als be regarded as a jibe at Disney's former association with McDonalds' fast food industry? At least I see it that way.


I've read the review of this film here on UD, and I don't understand why the reviewer thinks this one is not as good as most Pixar offerings. It already belongs to my personal favourites alongside Monsters Inc. I think the weakest of the bunch so far is Cars (enjoyable to watch once but not one I really want to add to my collection)

I'm not sure Amy, but I don't think that is right. I believe the gift set is actually $14.99, that seems like a pretty big gift with purchase. However, I bet they will have a promotion on it when you buy the Ratatouille DVD. Kind of like when you bought The Jungle Book, you got a free plushie, and you could also get the $9.99 Tin Bank for $4.99. My guess is it will be something like that, the toy set might only be $9.99 when you purchase the DVD. And hopefully they will perhaps have a different free gift with purchase, perhaps even a plushie.

I also like the way the steelbook cover looks. Its too bad R1 never gets that kind of cover art.

No push, but they do have a free movie ticket to see Enchanted when you buy either version of Ratatouille (Standard DVD = $14.99 / Blu-Ray = $29.99) OR either the PS2 or NDS Ratatouille video game (both versions are listed as $19.99 each).

Me either, Tuesday is going to be a great day. I'm still hoping Best Buy will offer a discount price when you purchase them both at the same time, since I already pre-ordered my copy of Ratatouille from there. I'm also hoping DMR might also somehow offer bonus points for purchasing both. We'll see.

Final Thoughts: Sweet, engaging and often hysterically funny, "Ratatouille" is one of the year's best films. The DVD presentation offers outstanding video quality and fine audio quality, but comes up short in the extras department. Still, this is one of the most entertaining films I've seen in a while, and I'd highly recommend it on DVD.

Bird changes Ratatouille (& his other films) from theatrical to home vid. Amazing stuff to listen to. I've only watched the first one so far.
