True, but imagine if those posters didn't get leaked last week, & THIS is all we got. Nothing new, the same image from last December & no new info. Atleast those leaked posters gave us SOMETHING cause it seems Disney has no intent on releasing ANYTHING officially soon.

Why is it this film in particular that Disney are so protective of? Cancelled then back on, then no new info, then a leak, then nothing ... just don't get it

I guess that Disney has so many divisions that they couldn't communicate right in time between the Marketing and the D23 magazine which must has gone for print since many weeks now.
Remember that last year, the article in the D23 about Wreck-it Ralph was only a bit longer and didn't reveal much more exclusive pictures.
Frozen is the production that is the most short in Disney history, even shorter schedule than Ralph, Bolt and Tangled.
Time will reveal much more on Frozen when Disney staff will be ready to, and most of the movie which are going to be released at the end of the year don't have full trailers online, so again, stay patient!

For those wondering why Disney is keeping things under wraps, it's because they're in a race against time to get it done.

November 21 2012:

* Frozen hasn't gotten into high gear yet. Story work is still being done and animation hasn't yet shifted into third gear. (So it's gonna have the same petal-to-the-metal production schedule that Ralph did.)

January 17 2013:

There's not much to report except that animators are now getting two sequences of Frozen to animate, and story tweaks continue.

"They're fine-tuning the first act, getting character relationships set up right and getting the characters as empathetic as possible. Acts two and three are pretty well together. They just want to make sure everytning is set up so that it pays off ...

I saw some rough animation on a "comedy relief" character who looks as though he's going to be hysterically funny. There's lot of work to do, and as one artist said to me, for they next nine or ten months everybody will be "very focused."

With so much animation and story tweaking left to do within the next 8 months, it's simply too early to start releasing stuff like trailers and posters. Disney marketing is probably figuring out how to market the film.

We just have to be patient.

Well, why do they have to rush it? Why don't they postpone it slightly and get something of higher quality? On the other hand, Mermaid was rushed and look how that turned out...

Last year, at this time Disney released 3 new images for Wreck-it Ralph"s game worlds. This year Disney released the same image for Frozen that they released last December. That's still the only official image they have released. They couldn't release 1 new image for the D23 magazine?

Yeah, that's what I said above more or less.
I can confirm that the production is very tight and short.
Only a thousand of fans are getting crazy now, so that's not a big deal for now.

Wreck-it Ralph, despite the fact the movie had also a tight schedule, was a little bit more advanced than Frozen and the images released in the D23 last year of the 3 games were leaked before the magazine was out, so voilà!

Would it kill them to release 1 new concept image? They've only released that pic of Olaf last Oct. & the December image. Even the Rotoscopers have said they have multiple concept art images.

Boy, the Internet has made us an impatient and greedy bunch. We'll probably get a teaser and more images in June. I can happily wait until them and I'm really looking forward to this movie.

If people truly want to remain unspoiled about upcoming films and not have to endure other people's whining and complaining, here's a radical idea: stay away from websites/blogs/threads that are devoted to exactly that. If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourselves.

Last month they had a webcast with licensees about the film…most of the art was still only sketches, and very little of it had been animated. They had voice work done and some songs are complete, but I think it will probably be a little longer before there’s a teaser trailer or anything. However, I do know the whole entire plot, which they were nice enough to spoil for us. I think it’ll be great…plus the artwork they DO have so far is beautiful.

Who says I want to remain unspoiled? Exactly what is contradictory, could you elaborate?

I said I'm annoyed by the whining, but as I said I admit that I'm guilty of it. Curiosity about the latest info often gets the better of me. I'm merely saying that before the internet, things were simpler because we weren't tempted to seek out the latest info all the time. We'd simply have to wait for Disney to release a trailer and even then, discussion on what we liked and/or disliked would be limited to people in your direct circles. No forums, youtube etc.

How is it contradictory to say I fondly remember those simple times? I am well aware that if I whine about something I dislike, it's my own problem for seeking out info in the first place. Maybe if I weren't aware of it, then it would be silly yes, but that's not the case.

Also, I'm MUCH happier with the cone of silence that was implemented at Disney in 2006. The days of animators leaking info to Jim Hill were not beneficial to WDAS at all. In fact, I think those Frozen images that leaked last week were the first big leaks under Lasseter's reign.

I think it's good that they're keeping things shut down pretty tightly on Frozen. If TPATF taught us anything, it's that you don't want the media on your ass when the film is still in storyboard stages.

This is what I had guessed anyway. It only got revived to be Tangled 2.0, and so they've probably had to rush to revamp the story--or make it workable at all, which they had plenty of problems doing to begin with--so that animation can get started in time. What a mess.

I wasn't referring to you with that. I simply mentioned it because I have heard plenty of fans complaining about exactly that.

You also can't prevent others from expressing themselves whether you find it annoying or not. So, complaining about other people complaining is pointless.

Personally, I don't believe that affected Disney in any way. Only fans seek out that kind information anyway; neither the mainstream media nor the general public cares about that.

That was an exception because of the subject matter. People were up in arms the minute the film was officially announced. Also, the changes resulting from that weren't big anyway. Maddy was renamed to Tiana and from a chamber maid she became a waitress. Both changes were for the better if you ask me.

Don't worry, it didn't. I worry about that myself because sometimes my posts come off as blunt or antagonistic unintentionally.

Agree on some things and disagree on others, but don't want to further derail the thread.

And good to know neither of us intends to be hostile. Just some good old spirited discussion.

I know I said this a few days ago, but I'm gonna try again to wait for some real new details.
