Is it just me, or does the tagline at the top not make it look a lot like a poster rather than a DVD cover? Since the Movie Rewards and FastPlay logos are there it's obviously the DVD, but the tagline looks odd to me...

Just don't look at Giselle's hands. Her fingers are huge....

I haven’t posted in this thread much, but that does not mean that I’m not very excited for this release. After I watched that five minute preview on the official site, a few months ago, I’ve tried to limit my Ariel intake. I cannot wait for this release.

Regarding the covers, there are aspects of each I like. I liked the darker color scheme of the old cover. I also liked the way Marina and Flounder looked on the other cover. Flounder doesn’t look like himself on the new cover, and in my opinion Marina looks less menacing. Ariel, who is the most important character, looks more on-model on this cover. She looked very chubby on the other cover. Perhaps because she’s younger in this film and, like most children, hasn’t slimmed out yet. Whatever the reasoning I prefer her design on the new cover. I do agree that the tagline makes it look like a movie poster rather than a DVD cover, but it adds to the mystery of the plot I guess.

Another thing I noticed is that Marina now has a full bodysuit instead of the purple bikini :o :o

Will someone buy the pictureback book for 'The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning'?

Hopefully someone will, and be kind enough to give us descriptions (and maybe scans..) of the book.

Yes, like Disney Duster did with 'Cinderella: A Twist in Time'!

I would be happy to purchase the book. I’ll post a description and make scans. I must warn you though, I will not be reading the spoiler sections of the book. I want to be surprised when the DVD comes out.

REINIER I noticed that too. Perhaps, with the first cover, the artist just assumed she was in a bikini, like the rest of the mermaids.

lord-of-sith wrote:The new cover's definatley better. I agree that Flounder looks better on the old one, but I also like the one sister (don't know exact name, but has the statue-of-liberty crown) better on the old one.

Triton and Ariel are waaaaaay better and Marina is fine either way (looks more like Ursula in the new one).
Yup, I know whatcha mean by Marina looking more like Ursula. Her hair and her body suit makes me lean more to the theory that Ursula is just Marina in disguise since Marina wears earings, has similar makeup and she has a temper (not to mention the similar pictures of her and Ursula posted on the front page!). I may be wrong, but:

What if Ursula is banished at the beginning of the movie, and to get back into the Kingdom, she disguises herself as Marina (she must have learned how to do it before since she transformed into Vanessa), to become head honcho, in Sebastian's place. Also, when Marina is talking in the 5-minute preview, when she is talking about how she wants to "squash Sebastian's head", she sounds like Vanessa did when she was grumbling at the animals during the wedding.

This is just a theory, but it's what I think :).

Btw, I do like both covers, but I like the new one better (especially Marina!)

Btw, here's a comparison pic:

Notice, Marina's hair is streaked like Ursula's...? ;)

Disney Villain you are back ! I have missed you ! I wondered what had happened, as you didnt reply to my emails or anything. Glad to see you are back. How is the website ? It hasnt been updated for a while, as I guess you have been busy ?

Anyway, I was watching TV last night, and a TLM trailer came on TV ! It was the first movie, and I thought it was going to go into AB, but it turned out to be a Disney DVD offer instead (Buy on Disney DVD get one free), and TLM is front-lining it, as it is the first time the DVD has ever been included in a promotion. I got sooo excited for nothing :( Oh well, at least the trailers are showing in the Disney Store !

OR Marina could be Ursella before she turned all evil.

But that theory is inconsistent with TLM II :(

Thank you so much Lizzie, I have missed you too! I am so sorry that I have not replied to your e-mails; however, the last one I received from you was from October. If you sent more after that I never received them. I update my regular Disney website on a daily basis, but the Enchanted Tales Site has been neglected, and I’m sorry for that. I’m actually working on some new graphics for the Enchanted Tales Site, and it will be updated within the next week, maybe even the next few days. Feel free to send me an e-mail anytime, I’d love to chat some more. I’m glad to hear all has been well, and thank you for the welcome back!

It's the way it is for you. Please don't make statements about what will or will not be in the film until they've been officially squashed. Predictions, of course, I have nothing against.

I dunno, I'm still going with my theory of Marina really being Ursula, because:

1. I think that rather than Disney just plainly bringing her back into the story and advertising Ursula as a returning villain, they wanted to try something different for their last "Direct-to-DVD Sequel", so a "different" villain would work, but it would also explain why Ursula was banished.
2. Marina wants to become head honcho next to Triton (Ursula wants power)
3. Marina uses eels as her "pets", Ursula uses Flotsam and Jetsam

That's just my theory I'm going with, and if we're proved wrong, then I'll be fine to see a new villain play out in TLM:AB :)

MARINA AND URSULA HAVE DIFFERENT NOSES...MARINA DOESNT LOOK LIKE DIVINE.

I believe that Marina has nothing to do with Ursula whatsoever. That is my theory
