Hmm.... To get it ASAP, or to wait until I get it? That is the question.

Seriously. I already have the 25th anniversary edition DVD of The Fox and the Hound, but I don't own the sequel, not that I'd be getting it for the sequel. :?

I'm thinking about that too. I've got a huge list of movies to get in the next few months, so I may put this one off for awhile. Hopefully a better deal will be around by then. Although $17.99 (Best Buy's price after coupon) is good for 2 movies, I really only care about the 1st.

I think $17.99 is pretty good for 1 movie, too.

Does anyone else find it interesting that the blu ray has one new feature and then all other bonus' are on the DVDs. Thats some clever marketing right there. It means you need the DVDs to get the maximum material out of the set.

Just thought I'd let everyone know, Bluray.com's review is up:

Wow, after reading that Blu-ray.com review I canceled my order. I already have the 25th Anniversary DVD, and F&tH isn't even one of my favorite Disney movies. Maybe in the future, but I still feel too young to be re-buying Disney movies. (I'm in college!)

I also find it odd that both movies are on 1 Blu-ray, but each movie gets its own DVD in the set.

These are much more reassuring:

I'm probably a bigger fan of this film than most, but I'm not sure the coupon is enticing enough for me to want to upgrade to Blu-ray this time around.

I don't know if I buy the bad reviews. Much of the criticisms sound a bit too nit-picky for me.

I agree, I've read bad reviews for other films that almost scared me from buying them. Once I did, however, I didn't see what the big deal was and was glad I had them. I expect the same for The Fox and the Hound!

Hello everyone. Does anyone knows if the making off-featurette of the dvd is long?

It's the same featurette from the 2006 DVD and that is around 6 or 7 minutes.

While the movie obviously didn't get the same treatment as other Disney Blus have, I actually don't mind that they didn't get rid of the film grain. I used to be a grain hater, but now I don't mind it so much (except when a movie is so grainy that it becomes distracting).

Hey guys! Any news whether this will get a UK release? Disney don't seem to have anything scheduled for now ...

Okay. Thanks for the info. Its a pity that they won't make a new making-off featurette for this movie.

Thanks to the magic of ebay I got a hold of a copy of the blu ray/ dvd combo of this 30th anniversary edition for under $20. Considering I didnt get Fox and the Hound on DVD for its 25th anniversary Im happy I am getting the blu ray as it is a title I cant wait to revisit. I know its not a strong release but at least its the film in a restored form of some kind and I didnt pay full price for it so Im happy enough till a more substantial release comes out (if it ever does).
